wrong, He and JL are not poor SEC QB's, In fact they lead the SEC in passing efficiency (not even JJ's main strength). They have been very effective QB's this season (you don't make it to the NC with crappy QB's.) We deserve better? We don't deserve shite, but we have better QB's coming soon (or at least it seems)

No, not even close. Herb Tyler was 1000x better at that than JJ.

+1
anyone who remembers the 90s should agree

True.

But he flat out knows how to beat Bama. I'll take that for now.

Woodley was a true double threat too. He was the scrambler, Steve was the passer.

What people forget about Flynn is it took him nearly half a season to get his timing down with receivers as it was his first time to start and Doucet was hurt. Once they started clicking it was awesome.

I dunno, seemed like Flynndid great out of the gate. But I guess he had to step up and be a better passer to compensate for lsu's suddenly leaky defense.

Herb's 40 yd TD run against then #1 Fla. in Tiger stadium on Oct. 11, 1997 helped lead the greatest upset victory in LSU football history! I still have the picture in my study with my tickets and some of the grass from Tiger stadium that beautiful fall evening. Geaux Tigers!

Herb Tyler Passing
comp% yds TD INT Y/G
60.70 5876 40 24 163.2
Rushing
YDS TD
778 23

Jordan Jefferson Passing
comp% yds TD INT Y/G
58.40 4680 34 19 114.1
Rushing
YDS TD
846 12

Looking at the stats, it appears Herb was slightly better, both passing and running

Didn't read the whole thread but if you're going to be considered a good dual threat QB don't you need to have 2 threats? JJ does is not a passing threat. 30 yrds against UGA. No decent QB would have that little.

meh... one game. He has always been more than satisfactory in bowl games especially in domes.

You sure as hell are not going to show your face when bama is beaten for the third time within 14 months.

I would like you to give us your handle in any other forum so that we can continue to enjoy your illogical and incessant whining.

I was reading one of the Tide forum boards about what player they most feared in this game and they nearly all said Jefferson.

Those two ideas "best" and "JJ" should never be used in any phrase or sentence. JJ is not a qb. I'm expecting a great game from him, but please, get back to reality.

Herb Tyler is a dual threat QB. Is JJ even really considered as a dual-threat?

"He" didn't beat Bama. This is the underlying issue that chaps my butt about this guy at QB. It's all about him. I'd like to have a dollar for every time he utters "I" or "Me". And it disappoints me that there are members of the Tiger Nation that tolerate this mind set.

They not only tolerate it ... they promote it. I respect what JJ has done for LSU, but those post-game interviews last year where he continually stated that he thought he played well still stick in my mind.

It's reminiscent of the shameless self-aggrandizement of professional wrestling. No place for it on my Tiger team.
