True. I wonder how much she actually gave them for it though...cuz when she's ruthlessly berating the counter worker at the D/FW airport (for no fricking reason, mind you), she is still wearing her earrings.

The mom is clearly an alcoholic who finishes off an expensive bottle of red before noon everyday. Why else would they be going to France for Christmas?
She was never desperate to find her son but she was desperate to prove that she didn't need rehab like many on her husbands side of family were calling for year.

quote:lol this is the most glaring hole in the movie. Seriously if you weren't sure where your kid was in that situation you could have somebody inside your house in 15 minutes. What type of dbag cops just blow that off. In a rich suburb like that that'd be the big event of the day. Jesus tell your friend to go throw a brick through the window if necessary. There's no excuse not to get someone inside.
I guess they never bothered to leave a message. Also I pointed it about early in the thread (so about 2 years ago...) but how shitty was the cop? Knocks on the door a few times then says "welp, nobody here! I'm out".
I'm not sure the legality of this, but if the Mcallisters were certain that Kevin was home, could they not authorize a locksmith to enter their home (maybe with a policeman present as well) to check on him?

Has anybody talked about how the dad divorced his bitch wife, moved to California, became a drunk and then got eaten by sharks in the middle of Beverley Hills? I'm sure the drinking stemmed from Micheal Jackson raping his son.

kevin is clearly a sadist though. In Home Alone 2, you snapped the picture and had them caught red handed. There was no reason to lead them through your house of torture again except for the fact that he gets off on it

Which is exactly why they couldn't just tell the cops to bust down the door or something. Kevin would've ran whoever came through that door through the same torturous mechanisms. His blood lust knows no bounds. He will set booby traps until his hunger is satisfied.

Would any fathers in here let their brothers call their little kid a little jerk? Kevin's dad is a huge pussy

Also, a house of 20 people and every single one over sleeps? Alarm clocks working or not. Has this been hit on yet?

I'd say her motives are not to make sure that Kevin is safe. She clearly doesn't give that much of a frick about him, or really any of her kids. Her motives are entirely selfish and have to stem from her concern with what the neighbors and everyone else she knows finds out that she left Kevin home alone and especially if he gets hurt. She ignores Kevin about a minute after she walks in through the door.

I agree, she also displays this completely self absorbed lack of lack of reality in 2:LINY at the baggage claim. She just hands off Kevin's bag and says all nonchalant like "Kevin's not here"
It's not until Mr. McAllister asks her that she all the sudden cares that he's gone.
Recent update: at the police station she says she last saw Kevin at curbside check-in. What? you last saw your kid on the street at the airport and thought that was enough? WTF? Mr. McAllister is all like, um no bitch I saw him at the gate cause I was paying attention to our 10 year old at one of the most busy airports in the world, on one of the most busy travel days of the year. She was all like, oh yeah me too
