.anyone know where to get some Bells beer in Baton Rouge?
Boo is correct. No Bell's in LA yet.

Bell's might be #1 on the wishlist.
Top 5 for sure.

Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA
tried this for the first time last night. Really good, one of the better IPAs I've had

along with the suggestions of Stone IPA, Racer 5 and Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, I'd add in Green Flash West Coast IPA, Lagunitas IPA or WTF, and Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale

Left Coast Hop Juice is another good choice if you can find it. Definitely available in Houston.

I tried the Fort Collins Chocolate Stout the other day, and it was pretty good; different, but good. Not too syrupy as the other chocolate stouts. Baton Rouge Beer Co. (Miller products) distributes it.
The Boulder Brewery, another Colorado brewery, has Sweaty Betty Blonde, a light wheat which is good too.
Not sure which stores to find either. I'm going to check Calandro's myself.

Happy Birthday MLA!!
Similar IPA's;
Sierra Nevada Torpedo (personal favorite available year round)
SN N. Hemisphere Harvest (should be available VERY soon)
SN Celebration Ale (Early November I am guessing. My Personal favorite and wish was available all year.)
How about a change of pace? I have been on a Belgian Quad kick for the last cupla months. How about (In Order of my Preference)
Rochefort 10 (My favorite by quite a bit)
St. Bernardus Abt
Ommegang Three Philosophers
Best Wishes on your birthday and gl. :-)

If you love Sweetwater, anything by Stone or Dogfish will be an improvement. Also, Sierra Nevada Torpedo would be a good choice. Happy Bday! Start homebrewing immediately.

When I lived in Atlanta I paid the rent at Sweetwater Brewery. I think the Stone IPA far superior to 420, but if you can get your hands on Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA (or even 60 minute IPA) your beer drinking world will kick into a different dimension.
Personally I would prefer the Sweetwater to the DFH90. I agree that the Stone might be better but I am just not as big as some on the 90 minute. There are a lot of better IPA's to me, but its all about personal tastes.

May get murdered but I like hopitoulas and even hop rod rye more than racer 5.
No shame in liking what you like. Hopitoulas is a solid IPA.

Best place to get Bells in BR is at my tailgate tomorrow. Party ball of Oberon I've been saving, Oarsman and Two-Hearted ales, Consencrator Dobblebock, Porter, Yuengling and a few Ommegang. Hell, I might skip the game with all those choices.

Good deal. I write about a lot of stuff I get in Houston as well as beer in BR.
