if my son gets in a fight at school today, i will NOT give him a fricking standing ovation when he gets home. i will give him an arse whippin and maybe even boo him too.

nobody's asking for a standing ovation...just to keep your frickin' mouth shut next time he runs on the field.

I don't know if this situation could derail a season, but there is obviously a disconnect between some, if not most, players and fans. Like one of them said;"they're selling us dreams", alluding to the idea that Tiger fans love their team and have their back against other teams, and the world. Whether or not that is the truth anywhere doesn't matter, our guys don't buy into that anymore, thanks to a bunch of self-righteous morons who are upset because JJ made them nervous about this seasons prospective success.

Tiger fans, especially ones with a groupthink mentality formed in forums like this, are going to kill this program eventually.

That's not the point in the least bit. You're not his father. It's not up to you to judge Jefferson's off field issues. That's for the coaches, his parents, and the institution to do. You support a team, and you should support any player who is willing to play for it, providing they don't murder, rape, or sneak in windows to watch bitches sleep.

Players Pissed at the Booing

So many idiot fans out there. I was genuinely shocked at the booing of JJ. And I usually have a good radar for that sort of thing, but I never saw that coming. Shameful really.

And I'm sure you'd be perfectly fine seeing your kid get booed by 90K strangers because he made a mistake and got into a fight at school.

Think for a second people.

In my opinion:

Thank you Les Miles.
Keep up the great work Defense.
Great job JL.
Welcome back JJ.
Looking forward to seeing you start next year Mett.
Honey Badger for Heisman!!!
Give up your season tickets all of you booers.

How many of you people complaining about the booing of Jefferson were leading the chorus of boos during JL's freshman season? I am glad JJ is back, but let's quit treating him like he is trouble because he missed Sunday school. He broke curfew and was involved in a bar fight. He is supposed to be a leader and put himself and the team in a bad situation. Hopefully, the boos are out of the fan's system, but stop condemning an entire fan base because of a few boos.

Not sure who you're referring to, but this has nothing to do with thin skin or delicate feelings. Saturday was the only time I can remember being embarrassed by the vitriol of our fanbase. It was sad. And although you don't know me from Adam, just to give you some context - I think it's perfectly ok to boo the LSU team when they are sucking on the field. Saturday, though, was hateful and purely personal. Big difference. And very shameful.

THIS ..

the people around me that were booing him were just still pissed that the guy put himself and his team, as the leader, in the position he did just two weeks before the biggest game of his career ... they got it out of their systems and cheered for him when he came in for his next series ... the players tweeting that shite, deep down, felt the same way when it happened .. they just don't get to jeer JJ for a moment like the fans did ...

Of course it was personal. What's shameful is our players being involved in a bar fight right before the seaon. The booing was expected and deserved. Now hopefully he can redeem himself on the field. We'll see

Agreed.

It's laughable, at best, the excuse these people keep coming up with about booing "Miles' decision." What a crock of shite. There hasn't been a bigger lie on this board since I've been here and I've been here a while.

If Josh Johns came on the field, no one would have booed anyone. If Jarvis Landry would have gotten suspended and he came back and put in the lineup, no one would have booed.

your team captain is supposed to be leading his team away from the bar fight .. not into it ... jefferson got what he deserved .. he put this season at risk when he made the choice he did ... fortunately, things have turned out fine ... but what if lee and mett just completely fell on their faces and we had lost to oregon and west virginia .. how bad would the boos have been then ?
