I'm pissed about it. If they want to start being so tough on law breakers why don't they start with the people shooting other people over drug deals about 10 miles north of JJ's apartment.

As much as I hate repeating myself in EVERY SINGLE thread, I keep coming back to do it.

This stuff is patty-cake compared to the way Robert Tyler stomped that dude back in '98. That whoopin looked like a Kimbo Slice youtube clip... old school. No tape on that one, though

Please. It's a high profile case because of the suspects involved. They HAVE to go all out on this. If you can't understand this or can't comprehend that cases like this are going to receive greater attention or scrutiny, then you're naive. Everyone is watching the actions of the BRPD here so they're going to devote attention to it. And it's not like JJ and crew are suspected of jaywalking. A guy had his head used for a soccer ball. But hey- geaux Tigers, right?

If they weren't football players but some other random dudes, I wonder if you'd give a frick about a felony battery suspect getting a DNA swab and his house searched.

I AM pissed...this is turning into an absolute circus. Not that I'm not appreciative of the GOOD law enforcement does, but this is a waste of resources and a mockery of "good" law enforcement.

Okay, why don't you explain to us the situation that led to the police having probable cause for a search warrant of Jefferson's home but not probable cause to arrest him? Did they have a bunch of really credible witnesses come in and say, "I'm not saying he did anything, but if you go look for some size 12 Air Force Ones in his closet, on the lower shelf, to the left, between the Tiger slippers and the purple Crocs, you'll find that they have the dude's blood on them. But I'm not saying Jefferson did it!"?

Bottom line they are giving Jefferson extra scrutiny as a suspect because of his celebrity status, and that is flat out wrong. It doesn't matter if it happens everywhere all the time (just like 2nd degree batteries in bar fights), it's still wrong and they still deserve criticism for it.

You know how they determine if it was them? Through an investigation. One that everyone is dead set against happening.

Btw, do you really think the players weren't involved? Are your P and G glasses that thick?

Wrong. For a few reasons

The Derrick Todd Lee case took so long because the profile was wrong. Police were looking for a white male. Like so many other murders, it is faulty leads or a lack of leads/witnesses, not the lack of police resources.

Secondly, just because the media and the Rant are spending more time on this subject than DTL case doesn't mean BRPD is. They are commenting on the subject heavily because the media is wants to know their progress. That doesn't mean they are diverting resources away from their murder investigations and such.

If you want to send the message that assault and battery are permissable in Baton Rouge because there are bigger problems, write a letter to your councilmen to put all policemen on murder cases regardless of how little manpower is needed on the limited amount of leads they have on those cases.
