I doubt they quit working on every case to handle this one. If the players are innocent then there is nothing to worry about. They are just doing there job.

Not me. I just don't think the investigation should be dropped because a) "this shite happens all the time" b) BRPD needs to go "fight real crime" or c) we need to beat Oregon.

I think most folks see this as a bar fight, and nothing more. Therefore, take statements, find some witnesses and get the thing done. I would have given all 8 disorderly conduct tickets within a couple of days.

It is not in the public interest to spend this amount of time and resources on a case like this. Now, if there were guns involved, or this was an ongoing gang-related thing, or if more serious allegations came up in interviews, etc., that's different.

I don't know, but how can you get an DNA sample without a warrant if you haven't been arrested?

+1

If JJ goes to jail I don't care but this has become a waste of time, money and manpower

How many unsolved murders are there in BR?

When are you Mo-Rons going to understand that there are several different investigative teams within BRPD. The folks investigating this fight would not be involved in investigating any murders. Do you know of any other crimes the Major Assaults Division should be investigating? It is not the homicid division...fricking tards.

If you want to complain about them taking this investigation too far, because after all this is only a bar fight...then fine. But just stop saying "oh they need to go solve some murders." TWO DIFFERENT DIVISIONS numbnuts!

Don't you suppose the first thing jjs lawyer said is burn the clothes from that night? I they find any evidence the lawyer should be put in jail. This is still Louisiana people where corruption is king. I hope it all goes away soon. The police love the media attention and will drag this out. Do some real police work arrest some of these uninsured motorists so I can stop paying these obscene car insurance premiums!

I wonder if the BRPD would. I think that's what everyone is trying to say.

EXACTLY. I know people who get in fights all the time at bars, yet none of them have their homes raided by BRPD and have 40 bags or whatever removed. Its over the top, plain and simple.

Who is the police chief for the homicide division?

It may not be in the "public's" interest, but it is most certainly in the "victim's" interest (if their are any real victims).

Question: Since the punching bags are demanding that charges be pressed against someone, most likely JJ, but the police department doesn't really pursue it (in other words, treat it like a normal bar fight) could the punching bags sue the BRPD?

Please tell me you don't honestly think that the Chief of Police actually does any investigative work!?!

The Chief of Police is primarily a figure head & administrative position. Personnel management, budget management, and PR are his primary functions...not investigations.

Of course they could but they would have to get in line because there are likely hundreds or thousands more ahead of them.

So he normally spends this much time involved on assault cases?

True, they may have asked. But no lawyer in the free world would allow their client(s) to give a DNA sample. Doesn't matter if they have video proof that JJ was asleep, curled up in his bed between mommy and daddy.
