Just wondering what everyone thinks the offense as a whole will do this upcoming year. I know we're still solid at he RB position and probably improved at the WR/TE positions. Without turning it into a QB controversy, how does this year's team offense improve/regress/or stay the same and why?

Lee won't start barring injury.. but I'd guess 50-70 with Lee. Throws too many picks still.

P.S. My numbers are totally uneducated guesses.

With a good qb there is no telling.

In what category? Scoring or total? Because LSU ranked 45th in scoring offense. And 86th in total yards.

Everything is in place for JJ to have breakout season.
I say top 30 offense in scoring and top 40 in total offense.

Based on?

I'd say regardless of who plays QB, expected overall improvement at that position leads to another 500 yards passing over 2010 numbers. Better passing and a healthier, more experienced, O-line gives a modest bump to the running game.

Total Offense would be around 5200 yards, which would have ranked in the 40's last season.

I think the running game is going to open up the entire offense. As much as I liked Ridley, he lacked that explosiveness once he broke the first tackle. He really never had that ability to take it to the house on any play. It looked like a fullback dive on every play. Effective for consistent shorter yards, but no big explosions.

Passing game will be similar, but less needed.

I still don't get this obsession with our ranking. Our yards per game, yards per play, time of possession, but most importantly points per game stats are much more important than how we stack up with 100 teams not in our conference and not on our schedule.

With Jefferson throwing for 90 yards a game, they will be hard pressed to crack the top 85. Nothing makes me believe Jefferson is going to do any better than he did in 2010 except for the adage, "he can't be any worse."

I think many here are forgetting just how poorly JJ performed last year.

Ding Ding we have a winner. This team has been disrepected to the point of providing much fuel to their ambitions.

The big ranking is where the team ranked/will rank in the Top 25.

I'm pretty content with #8.

It will be interesting to see the reaction if the O jumps to the 30ies or 40ies, but the team ranking falls which could happen with our schedule.

Guess we will have to find another bad guy to blame everything on, huh.

What does that matter? I doubt they weren't motivated last year.

Since Crowton is gone, if the offense sucks again and JJ is putting up double digits week in and week out in passing yards who will you put the blame on this year? I'm guessing you go with the OL.

I think you're.forgetting how much better jj did in 2009. Last year we had two new starting receivers.who were qbs in hs, a new receiver coach, and a new starting te. They've all had a year together plus we have an actual qb coach.

JJ will be improved and we should have a good line and a Good running game. I say we improve by 10-20 in yards and average around 30-35 points
