90-27 defined Richt (same winning %) and look where Georgia is at now.

So the fake fg against UF didn't show you something different? How about the halfback pass against AU? Seems like he is doing everything he can to try to win. He knows he can't with with with solid qb play, so he tries to do it other ways.

I'll concede that this year there has been more of an effort to pull out the stops to win, it's better than last year, which was horrible. I'm still looking at the body of work, though.

Miles cannot win with some and he cannot lose with others. For those of us in the middle, however, this game would go a long way, you are right.

As the recent election proved, its a contest for the independents vote that makes the difference.

I'd love just one win over of team that is sure to finish ranked at the end of the year.

Those had impact because they were executed successfully. But they are too infrequent, and were foreground to otherwise dismally managed football in the background.

In the final analysis what we have is a lack of demonstrated competency; there simply isn't enough. On the contrary, there are still recurring inexplicable gaffs plus LSU losing to its first quality opponent (Auburn)(Florida looked like a quality win, until Miss State's win over the gators the following week proved otherwise). This is why you have so many LSU fans agitated with a coach with an otherwise impressive (on paper) record.

Of course, Miles can earn idiot savant status (he is presently a notch below that right now, imo) with a win over Bama.

Regardless of win or lose, its the rest of the schedule that will define Miles. If LSU loses to Bama then its not the end of the world. If LSU loses to Bama then goes on to lose to OldMrs and/or Ar-Kansas then troubles coming.

I believe Georgia is currently 94-32 under Mark and he is still seeking that NC which separates a coach from bout 99% of his peers.

As to where Ga. might be now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think where they are is in the BCS Top 10.

Hence why I said defined and look at Georgia now. Both Miles and Richt had the same winning % coming into this season with Richt coaching 50 more games. Note, that if LSU loses tomorrow, Mile's winning percentage will still be at 77%.

Oh, and how many one-loss seasons does Miles have again?

What defines Miles:

1) Including 2007 - 6 wins and 7 losses vs. group AU, UM, Bama and Ark.

2) Hasn't beaten a team ranked higher than his since GT in the 08' Peach. Before that OSU in the NC game.

We only win the ones we are supposed to. The fact that we are almost always close in big game defeats has kept him around this long.

All this said, I do believe tomorrow is an inflection point for Miles - win it and he keeps his job. period. Lose it and the door creeps open.

As a long time Tiger fan and alum, I want to see something different tomorrow -- not asking for much -- but something that has a ring of quality to it.

.

A ring of quality is what we should expect from a coach making $3.75 million per year. Show up Les

Ok, 4-5. So?

Look at LSU now...7-1 and in the BCS Top 10.

Actually, I think it's the other way around: Miles defines tomorrow's game. For better or worse.

Les Miles explains end of game debacle vs. AU

I can not paste the link for the above but the Baton Rouge News station showed the fiasco on TV. The picture behind the TV News man showed a picture of Miles with his tongue hanging out and his head tilted like a dog, not very flattering. The TV replay of LSUs final play against Auburn was of course similar to the Tennesssee game final play or utter confusion. This is similar to last years Ole Miss game as well. Miles is not able to explain these failures.

I expect no mistakes tomorrow and LSU to win!

Yes, 3 years ago. It also includes 4 loss seasons, allowing FLA and UGA to put up 50 points on us, losing a bowl game stupidly, game blunders, having no QB for 3 years, and hiring shitty coordinators that were eventually (or will be) fired.
