Great first post.

If this is your first year with college football, try keeping your mouth shut and enjoying what we've been doing for a long while. If you don't like it, go back to your old HS games where you played 3rd backup linebacker and got juiced when someone played Guns N Roses on a crappy speaker set. They'd love your media input.

the loud music and commercials coming from
the scoreboard are the most annoying parts
of tiger stadium experience for me. i don't
know how people located near speakers handle it.

the lsu band on the other hand is a a great
compliment to the tiger stadium experience . it shows in how the crowd responds

Best answer Yet! Thank God for us older people! LSU Godlen Band Rules!! It IS part of the reason I like to go to the game instead of watching on TV. If you don't get chills when they play...then you won't ever get it! You need to learn to take pride in ALL THINGS LSU, and then you can call yourself a die hard fan!

The marching band is one of my favorite things about college games. I don't want to hear bubblegum pop and 80s hair bands. They're crap on the radio and they're crap in the stadium. Don't even get me started on that god awful Garth Brooks song they love playing over the PA.

As a note, those big speakers you are talking about are called a PA system.

the commercials are thanks to the sponsors that allow that huge screen to exist, without it you could never tell what was going on on the field XD

seriously i dont know how people enjoyed the game before they put screens on the stadium, you see tiny men on a tiny field but hey same goes for the band at halftime

Because if there wasn't a band at LSU, then Huey Long would rise from his grave this very Halloween and take the stupid son of a bitch who killed the band and transport said stupid son of a bitch to the worst part of HELL.

When I found out the band wasn't coming to Seattle for the LSU/UW game, I personally reached out to LSU on behalf of the 300+ folks here in Oregon and Washington that bought tickets to the game and made my voice loud and clear. As a result, I received an immediate answer from the athletic department that they changed their mind and the band would be coming after all. Leverage, baby, leverage.

We may have won that game because of the band. You can't prove we didn't. Or it could have been because I stayed after the game and sang the alma mater along with the band all 3 times they played it. Don't remember after the middle of the 4th quarter, but my wife tells me I did so it must be true.

Our band is on a mission from God. Oh ye of little faith, how dare you question whether they are necessary. Do you go to church and tell the priest to disband the choir?

Long story short, shut the hell up and quit pissing off Huey.

All you need to know... a 20 year old communication major guilty of failure to communicate. Go back to class, douchebag, learn something, get your degree and then come back and post. You're a disgrace to those of us who bleed purple and geauxld and have a degree or two from LSU.

P.S. Most of those band geeks you denigrate have far more appreciation for LSU and are far more likely to leave with a degree and get a real job than your chances. Think about that.

I know I'm late on a post for this but I noticed on your profile you spelled the word "communication" wrong. How did you ever get admitted to LSU?

how can you not get tired of the same performance every single time, same march down the hill, same pregame, same halftime show, same stadium music

This sealed it for me.

1) That same march down the hill and that same pregame music is one of the things that makes LSU THE place to be in the south. When I take my kids to games one day and they hear that blast, its going to echo in their ears for years to come. It will be their first memory of their Alma Mater as it was for me. Its more than tradition - its a way of life.

2) The halftime show does occasionally repeat, but to put on a show of that length in a WEEK only practicing Tuesday through Saturday is a landmark achievement that should be celebrated - not berated. Until you spend the time going through what TGBFTL goes through, you have no room to criticize. They sacrifice more in a single week than you do all year long you selfish prick.

3) You do realize the band learns something like 15 stands tunes for the year? Plus spirit music like Tiger Rag and the down cheers. Plus show music. As above - you have no clue how much effort goes into the quality of show the Golden Band puts on that field and in those stands. There are no more die hard fans than those in a Tiger Band uniform so don't give me your BS.

Ultimately, yes, you're entitled to your opinion but that doesn't mean we have to be subjected to it. Take your opinion and transfer to some other school where the band doesn't matter and people welcome your idea. You're more likely to get an education on your level anyway - a degree worth wiping your arse with.

I find it ironic that you are calling yourself a REAL fan, when everyone knows the nickname for the pregame show is "FOUR notes"

This has got to be the most idiotic post ever. Those band members put in a huge amount of time to play for people like this and I am sure their cummulative GPA far surpasses anything this person could dream of. This person will be working for one of the band members one day!

What's really funny is that I don't think anybody goes to the stadium to see "LSUwhereitat085".

Nobody really cares about you. People do care about the band. You lose.

How can you not get tired of the same march? same music? etc?

Do you get tired of the same green field? Do you get tired of the same uniforms? Do you get tired of seeing that eye of the tiger on the field? Do you get tired of going to the same stadium? Wait, you did say this was your first taste of LSU football. Trust me, the band has been there before, it is there now, and it will be there in years to come. Alter or not, you are but a tiny flea on a dog's nutsack.

BTW: I want to be a "commication" major.
