Did you come away with anything positive from the Tennesee game?

Everyone is doing this hypothetical thing this morning, can we do it on the positive side? You can only read through so many "Fire Les Miles" threads. Keep the Miles bullshite out of this thread.....

I know Jarrett Lee is going to dominate this thread......

but something else I was excited to see......when Lee came in the game, the WR's started magically catching the ball.

Yes, the playcalling was significantly better, mostly when Lee was in, sure thats not coincidence.
Lee throws a more catchable ball. I know it sounds stupid, but its proven itself to be true.

Ridley is a beast...runs hard and gives it his all.

JL can throw a really nice ball to the flat, on time and with zip, to receiver who can operate in space.

He sure isn't perfect, but Lee is a legitimate downfield passing threat. That alone opens the offense and gives the defense another thing to defend. He made some mistakes, and I held my breath a few times, but the team has a chance to win every game with Lee. That is a positive. If we had this defense and the 08 offense, we'd be better off than we would be with Jefferson playing now.

400+ yards, Lee's performance and leadership, the D as a whole

The bubble screen reappeared, It's sad, but Jefferson just can't make that 10 yard throw.

this is the most yardage we've put up since how long? it didn't translate into points this time but if we keep moving the ball like that we'll score a lot more points. w/ our d and special teams that could be good

I posted it yesterday.

That 4th and 1 stand by the defense at the LSU 31 was nothing short of epic. I'm coming to expect stuff like this from this defense.

oh yeah!
feel much better about the rest of the season for a number of reasons after that performance.

Defense and Special Teams are outstanding, Running game is damn good, O-line play much, much better....and NOW we have a passing game threat.

like our chances the rest of the way!

Not really. Same old slop on offense. An undermanned rebuilding Tennessee with a first year coach came into our house and beat us (before they decided to give it to us on a platter).

The team was unprepared, as usual. Too many bush league mistakes and penalties, as usual. We let an inferior team hang around, again. It's like Groundhog Day.

I saw this as well. Especially Tolliver. Does this mean that Lee throws a more catchable ball? Or does it mean the receiving corps is trying harder?

also, everytime JL was in, the O-line opened huge holes for Ridley!!! I think everyone on O plays harder and better when JL is in

I hope this gives the offense that "identity" everyone keeps saying is missing. I'd like to see 70% Lee and 30% JJ just to give the defense something else to think about.

We saw this in the 2000 peach bowl. josh booty wasn't playing poorly but for some reason the recievers were dropping balls. In come Rohan and all the sudden we score 28 unanswered. I'm a results oriented guy. Bottomline our offense clicked better with JL.
