Dear LSU students, faculty, parents and fans, listen up. Or should I say read up.
No matter what our differences are, we all have one thing in common. We all come together on Saturday nights in the most feared stadium in college football: Death Valley. Seating 92,400 people, that can do some intimidating damage to our rivals. We should use this to our advantage.
That being said, when the student section population is around 16,000, and they are all cheering the same thing, the stadium hears it. Everyone hears it. We are trying to see our rival teams' tail between their legs. We want them to be scared of the LSU Tigers as a team. And not JUST the football team.
The whole school and fan base is a team, especially when we are all piled into that sacred stadium together. So if we are all a team, why don't we act like it?
I've had the honor to have Jordan Jefferson lead my high school to win a state championship title in 2007. Booing Jefferson and chanting for Les Miles to put Jarrett Lee in is not, and I repeat IS NOT, the way to show our Tiger spirit. It's also hypocritical.
When Jefferson does something good, everyone is cheering and celebrating, "Yeah! Go Jordan!" But the first time he screws up, y'all are already rooting for him to get replaced. That is not fair at all and extremely negative. Is that really the way LSU Tigers should act?
If Jordan Jefferson wasn't a good quarterback, our record right now would not be 4-0. But aside from that, why would you boo your fellow team member, fellow student and friend? We are supposed to be showing support for our football team, not going against them. Save the booing for the rival teams.
It hurts me to see how many people are so negative toward our starting quarterback. Do you guys really not have any sympathy at all? I definitely don't see you booers out on that field every Saturday dealing with the pressure Jefferson is under.
Stop being so negative. I'm tired of yelling at everyone to "Shut up!" when you start booing our players. It's ridiculous and completely unnecessary.
I hope to see some change in football games to come. Start playing and cheering as a team. A supportive team. We are LSU. We strive to be the best in everything that we do. That includes being the best fans and team supporters we can be. Geaux Tigers!

So which is more futile effort, trying to change JJ into a fair qb or trying to change the behavior of 92000 people, many of whom are drunk?

This from a freshman. I am not a fan of booing any college players and was at the game. First time, no doubt it was directed at Crowton and Miles. Second time after the second consecutive pass at the feet of our receivers, it was at Jefferson. Miles is to Jefferson as was Haslett was to Brooks.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying. The way I see things is that if it were any other position on the field playing that poorly, a change would be made. I definitely think it is wrong to boo a college kid who is trying his best, but I believe the booing is more directed at the coaching staff. Over the years of watching LSU football I have found that everyone's favorite player is the back up QB, but I've never seen a starter play this poorly.

Maybe if they start selling beer in tiger stadium people won't boo?!
Or maybe just half decent quaterback play?
Or maybe good coaching decisions on offense?!

I think we need the Spurrier approach, he knew something about QB's

I have not and will not ever boo an LSU Tiger athlete! It's despicable! No matter that cause or justification for it. Just curse under yur breath...works well for me!

Kacie when you have a real job and a family and are paying a fortune to take your family to a game to watch the product LSU is putting on the field, I'll respect your opinion.
Sorry. Your opinion means nothing to me.

I read the first half of that letter and could tell a chick wrote it. Oh, look, she's also going for that coveted MRS degree

Kacie Yent ... aka JJ's girlfriend

Spoken like a true girlfriend. Though being anonymous and not telling everybody is cowardly.
Come'on you're sleeping with him, right. Only a girlfriend could be that loyal, oh and Les Miles.(oops)did I just imply that!

If the financial strain is so great on your family that you are emotional enough to boo a college kid...well, not only are you in sad shape you have also made horrible decisions for your family.
Maybe that person should be booed.

In resonse..I don't like the booing either but as long as LSU can charge what they do for tickets, parking, concessions and coaches salary..I understand why people boo.
This is just my personal view on the situation..I really don't like the booing in Tiger Stadium. To me it is classless BUT I also don't like some of the other things going on either.

I watched it on television and the announcers kept saying that the fans have a reason to be grumbling. The announcers weren't even critical for the crowd's response. Took me by surprise.

So some chick that has been infatuated with JJ since her freshman year of high school defends him?
