"Keiland's been very impressive," Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said. "He's a guy that does a great job in pass protection, especially for a young guy. He's got some great running skills. He catches the ball. He's got a big upside, and we'll get a chance to see what he can do in live situations. But I like the way he's handled himself thus far."

Shanahan's system is the best possible fit for him. He's fortunate to have ended up in that situation.

I'm glad he picked all that up during the offseason because he couldn't block, he fumbled constantly, and didn't run hard while at LSU. I can't believe he suddenly got so much better in the NFL. He must have been lazy while he was here.
Just trying to figure out why he didn't play more . . .

KW was always a class act as LSU. It'd be great to see him enjoy a long, successful career in the NFL.

He might have a hard time making the final roster unless they keep four RBs. I can't see him making it to the Practice squad for the Redskins, so I'm sure we might see him somewhere else.

He's gonna be one of those guys who blossoms in the pros and makes us look dumb for not using him more.

Whether or not he makes it in the pros or not, we were really stupid for not using him more.

This x 1000
He was the only running back we had since JV in '03 that was a legit run home threat. That run against Va Tech in '07 was a thing of frickin beauty.

He's the perfect zone blocking one cut back for Shanny.

Everyone seemed to always agree he'd be a better pro than college player. It's all about reps in college.

My gosh what a bunch of morons. Were ya'll blind when KW would run up to the line and pause not knowing where to go and get tackeld for no gain? Sure, he would hit one from time to time and he was an asset to the team but to think he should have been getting 20 carries a game is ridiculous. He was way too indecisive at hitting the hole for that. As the article states he was good on third down for that swing pass out of the backfield.

Good for him. I always thought he was more an NFL style runner than our system. Seems like he'd be great in Shanahan's zone blocking scheme, one cut and throw on the jets.

another great talent that never really got off the ground while at LSU (underutilized)
