1) Boxing for me by a country mile.

2) Matter of personal taste. I enjoy it infinitely more. No argument that involves fans of different sports trying to justify why their choice is better ever ends in resolution so there's no point.

MMA. It's more immediate gratification because they take the gloves off. I like to see the knockouts in both sports. But MMA is only 3-5 rounds. So if the fight isn't good, I don't have to wait 10-15 rounds before it's over.

This will probably get ugly. lol

I like MMA better right now. But, when the heavyweights were worth a shite in boxing I really used to love watching a title fight. Just isn't the same now though. And yes, I know Klitchcho would give a lot of the former greats a great fight, he just sucks to watch is all.

Boxing and its not even close. The best part of MMA is the boxing I don't see why any one would not like the best part of MMA isolated.

I wouldn't go that far. There's a ton of skill invovled in MMA and I would even go so far to say that MMA requires a more diverse and versatile skill-set. But it is more likely in boxing that the more skilled/better fighter will win. It takes sustained superiority over the course of a long bout. MMA fights lend themselves much more to flukey outcomes, which is why you don't see an undefeated champion dominate for a long time.

Boxing...not close at all. I guess it's just personal taste as well. Grew up being taught that you stand up and fight...only girls kick.

It's not comparable.

Boxing is ONE form of martial arts.

MMA is boxing, wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing etc...etc...etc...

That's not entirely true: That would be like saying "soccer is one form of football" since football has kicking but also passing, blocking, receiving, etc.

Boxing is a sport created by its rules. It doesn't just mean "punching." There's strategy involved based on those rules just like MMA has strategy in its sport. I just prefer boxing's sweet science to homoerotic "grappling" displays by tattooed men in spandex.

This is it for me. The HW division in boxing is shite right now. I will watch the welterweights, but it is not enough to maintain my interest in the sport.

And, MMA is more exciting, in my opinion. Takedowns, kicks, shorter fights, multiple styles, exciting fighters, etc.
