I know it hurts to be let go by a team that just won a superbowl. But he helped us and I hope he does well with browns and bring them out of the dark.

The way I see it, he deserves his pay day. Make your money before hanging it up for good.

Thanks for being a class act here in New Orleans.

Winning a Super Bowl doesn't just require talent. It also requires players with intelligence, heart, and class(class enables better team chemistry).

Scott was just one example of that--and luckily for us, there are numerous other Saints players who appear to possess those same qualities.

Thanks to Scott for being a Saints and for representing New Orleans as it should be.

Payton chimed in-

The Saints were never in that ballpark, according to people familiar with the situation. Payton did not provide exact figures Monday and instead made it clear that while Fujita's departure as an unrestricted free agent is a loss it was not one that was entirely unexpected.

"Scott was the first player I brought here and he was with me in Dallas and we go back," Payton said. "We even have the same agent, there are all kinds of connections here. He'll be missed here, but I'm thrilled he has this opportunity in Cleveland."

T-P today

Brees tweet-

We lost a great player, person, and leader today in free agency. Scott Fujita signed with the Browns. He will be missed

Appreciate the years he was here, and he wore the Black n Gold proudly!

I'm sure he'll get a standing ovation when the Browns come to the Dome this year.

hate it beyond words that he's leaving, but from the joy of the Superbowl comes the reality that it's a harsh business.
The Saints lose a GREAT player and Fujita gets his payday.
I salute BOTH for making tough decisions.
The road is littered with teams who keep older guys too long, trying to recapture that magic. Though, but shrewd move.
I hope Fujita has a great, injury free career and success against the other 30 teams!

Players like Fujita are the heart and soul of the NFL. They might not be the tallest, fastest, strongest, or most skilled, but they bring all they have to the game week in and week out, and are pure class on and off the field. We will all miss you Fujita, and you'll always be received in NOLA with a hero's welcome.

God it sucks to see him go. Like everyone's been saying, he clearly isn't an elite LB, but to lose an average performer who brought great chemistry and presence to the field and locker room is a tough loss. Scott, make your money, retire in three years, and move back home to NO.

I think they should have tried to sign him 3 mil a year. He would have taken it. He is one of the few defensive players that can MAKE a play. A rookie can not replace him. It could cost us the Super Bowl.

I heard on Sirius radio yesterday Fujita donating half of his Super Bowl bonus to the Haiti fund and Katrina rebuilding fund (not sure of the right name)to help out NO.

Fujita was one of my faves, it's hard to see him go, but I wish the best.

Can anybody make a reasonable guess how much his new Browns contract is for? I hope it is huge.
