Really cause LSU fans to hold the young man in high regard. He may well never be a quality QB at LSU but in my view, we have learned A LOT about his character in the last two years.

It would be so easy to bail and heck, it might even be the wise choice. But the young man is going to gut it out even though he knows that should he have to take the field, the pressure will be immense and fans will expect him to fail.

Most 40 year olds I know do not possess such intestinal fortitude.

Or he is foolish to stay at a place where the fans hate him and he will get no playing time.

I'm gonna go way out on a limb and say J Lee has more character than Ryan P.

I agree. As I stated in the other JLee thread I think it shows highly of both JLee to want to stay a Tiger and highly of the LSU staff that they didn't force him out to open up a roster spot. Honorable behavior on both sides.

I agree and disagree. I think if Lee was given another shot at QB for a couple games we would see a much better QB than before.

The guy must obviously do something good in practice to make himself and the coaches believe he can perform in a game. IDK maybe he's a coach in training or something.

JLee staying or going has no effect on LSU football at all.

I don't think LSU fans "hate" Lee. Fans "hate" his performance in 08. Fans "hate" the interceptions he threw.

But, really, I don't think the fans, even on this board, personally "hate" the guy.

He's got a great future ahead of him, either as a player or a coach. Even if he never starts again at LSU, he may get picked up in the pros as a backup. He'll certainly get a chance to walk-on. Most players out of college don't even get invited to try and make an NFL team. Lee probably would.

I respect his work ethic. Bustin' his arse on the practice field every day. Taking crap from fans and holding his head up high. Guy must be tough as nails or crazy as a loon, both of which make fine qualities for coaching.

But "hate" the guy, never.

Personally, I think he would have been a hell of a lot more successful at Northwestern. I am sure that he would have helped them win more games than they did this last season.
