When will JJ be accepted by our fans? He is constantly called stupid on this site and blamed for our team's ranking in offense. People fail to realize our horrible our running game is. We ran for 170 yards only 2 times all year and under100 yards 4 times. Against Miss. State we ran for 35 yrds and passed for240 and yet JJ is blamed. Against ole miss we ran for 40 yrds and JJ led us on 2 game deciding drives. He hasnt had a running game a poor o line for protection and inept play calling. All this and he has put up matt flynn type numbers. He definately has work to do. He need to step up in the pocket and how to move within the pocket. He really doesnt lock onto recievers as you people think too . If that was the case our 2,3,4, recievers wouldn't have the catches they have. He has a way to go to be all sec but not as far as you people think. Some on here are sayin he wouldn't start at any other school and that is just retarded. JJ will be the starter. Stop calling him dumb.

He's not dumb.
But he needs to get rid of the ball and not take sacks that are foolish to say the least.
Plus not be scared of taking a shot deep. seems gunshy

hmmm. offense average 5 points less per game this year than last so what's your point.

found something to hang your hat on there did you......you failed to mention that flynn won a national title under the same HC and OC.....however I will give Jefferson another year or two in the program before I pass judgement either way....I'm not ready to call him dumb but I ain't ready to call him the savior but it seems you have already done that for me

When he starts using the Michael Jacskon/Sammy Sosa skin cream. It's sad, but some people have a hang up about a black QB.

most accept the fact that he is a quality talent and a quality kid but most don't have a clue about how many things have to be executed correctly for a play to work. the camera never leaves the qb until the ball does. one missed blocking assignment...one bad route...one player gets beat or quits on the play and the qb either gets smoked or looks stupid. it's not fair...it's the way it is. he will improve greatly next year because he has met the greatest teacher there is...experience. I fully expect the offensive line and JJ to be strengths next year with an improved running game and better ball control. JMHO. geaux.

His football smarts are what's lacking...like not knowing when to get out of bounds, not understanding the importance of not taking a freakin' sack, not realizing that staring down your receivers isn't good and not checking off to other options when his first read is covered.

JJ will be as good in the future as the next QB coach can take him. Thats what he needs the most, someone that can teach young (as in inexperienced) QBs and develop their talent.

for some people, when he changes color.

He has potential. That means he has things he needs to improve. He causes some sacks because he tends to steps deeper into the pocket under pressure instead of stepping up, which is actually hard to train yourself to do. He seems a victim of indecison, some on his part, a lot from the offensive coaches. That makes him look bad, and is likely not all his fault. His main faults are curable but he needs work with someone who can help him to improve. After two years of quarterbacks who haven't seemed to have improved much over the season, I tend to blame most of this on the coaches. Saying he is making mistakes isn't saying he is dumb.

For some people, it's race but I think, for many on this board, they criticize everything no matter what so JJ is just one of many things to criticize. You still have people criticizing the national championship team from 2007 and even one or two still criticizing Mainieri's moves from last baseball season.

JJ is a superb athlete. He's only a sophomore so he has plenty of time to progress.

JJ does not want to run the ball with his bum ankle.
I blame the coaches for asking him to do it, with his injury.
A lot of his woes can be attributed to the OL and play calling, plus the lack of discipline overall, that speaks directly to coaching.
That being said, he holds the ball way too long.

About the same time Miles is considered a good coach.

Never. They call him dumb. Even my dad and brother do. I don't think he is dumb, but not being coached. Is Lee also dumb? Is Shep also dumb? Randle? etc, etc. It is Crowton.
