Kind of the same way people refer to the President as Barack Hussein.

FWIW, he had no control over what his parent's named him, and that doesn't mean he's a bad person because of it.

The things that are not in speculation are that
Saban didn't quit recruiting when he got busted for improper contact with recruits while at LSU. This investigation is involving the same recruiting rules. You should worry about your own program since your coach is known to break the same rules our compliance staff is working to enforce.

Understood.

I plea to you all, however, to not start that shite in this thread.

Take it to the Poli Board.

Boy, we got some gumps in here hoping for, and trying to justify, the worst.

Not this one. I f'ing hate the NCAA. They are unfair, unjust and unaccountable.

We self-discovered, self-investigated and self-reported the textbook incident to the NCAA and what did we get in return, more probation, vacated wins and being labeled "serial repeat violators".

Screw the NCAA.

The rules were different at that point. I guess you forgot that there is actually a rule named for him that relates to that. The Saban bump rule. However, he is smart enough to use video feeds and other mediums to avoid violating said rule.

For the people who said that there are gumps in this thread hoping and wishing for sanctions for LSU..you're sadly mistaken. I pointed out the hypocrisy that is the NCAA (39 cent pencil penalty), and mentioned the illogical nature in which they hand out arbitrary punishment. That is not hoping and wishing anything on LSU. That is a statement from someone who has witness the bullshite way in which they operate, who is saying be prepared for anything.

This whole thread is a total failure.

GG, who is despised by most on here for his assumed "dislike" of LSU and Les, stated today that this involved too much contact, i.e. calls/text etc and would lead to nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

To all the people fretting and wringing thier hands about whether this was disclosed as soon as it was discovered, please enlighten me as to when it was disclosed to the NCAA, because I sure as hell do not know.

Alabama is about as close to getting the death penalty as any team in the country though. Why should it be a suprise they the rules are applied a bit different to BAMA?

Seriously? McCarthy changed LaFell from "LaDrop" into a certified badass (although "LaDrop" still shows up from time to time.)

Toliver has improved immensely.

McCarthy is a very good coach. It just sucks he is a dirty recruiter.

Are you serious? LaDrop was in full force this year.. He was always a badass that dropped a lot of balls and never improved from that.

They wouldn't have labeled you 'serial repeat violators' if you weren't repeat-repeat-repeat offenders or some shite like that.

Just the opposite my boy.

What LSU games are you watching; maybe the LSU in an Alternate Universe/Dimension? McCarthy can't COACH his way out of a wet paper bag. LSU's very talented receiving corps is being held back by this clown. Their development is slow as molasses and they've been consistantly dropping balls, running bad routes and blocking poorly since DJM stepped on campus........

Scroll to the bottom of your link and click on LSU Injury Report Archive and that opens up the complete history back to the beginning of the season. Read each comment on Hicks and you will see that (apparently) each week he was out.

Not so fast. No such report was filed after the Mississippi State game, which coincides with the four-game streak! I quote from the site:

After the ULL game:
quote:

Junior DT Akiem Hicks did not play the first three games of the season, and his status for the Sept. 26 game against Mississippi State is doubtful.

After the Mississippi State game:
quote:

Junior DT Akiem Hicks is likely to miss the Georgia game with undisclosed ailments. Hicks was supposed to be a major contributor for the Tigers this season as a defensive lineman, but injuries and illness have sidelined him for much of the season (has only played in one game in 2009).

Clearly, according to this source, he did play in 2009!

[quote]Also, the fact that the nature of his injury was never disclosed the entire season is suspicious in itself.

Perhaps so, but that can't be the only reason for not disclosing the injury. Several players on this injury report had undisclosed injuries, and they're not in suspicion of recruiting violations; ergo, while this is good circumstantial evidence, it's not conclusive on its own.

quote:

You can go to the lsusports.net website and look at the game participation stats and you'll see that in every game he is not listed. This means he did not play a down at all.

They also listed Craig Loston as having played in two games - but as I recall, he hasn't played at all.

The wording of the injury report website also makes me wonder. It just seems odd. After all, if it's been said all year that Hicks was injured and did not play because of injuries, why wouldn't the injury report website follow up on that injury like they did before and find out he was hurt?

Let me get this straight, you commit more violations while still on probation from the last set of violations, and you're pissed b/c you got called a repeat violator?? You should be before the NCAA for just giving you more probation instead of yanking scholarships.

You're only way out is to play Houston a 1-2 (1 home and 2 away). Check out the infractions committee:
