Louisiana - home of the best food in the world...known for its delicious...corndogs???

Nicknames that are pinned on people are dumb. Nicknames should describe a trait that monicker would just describe.
Corndogs, what a dumb, arbitrary name.

sorry, just had to vent.

Go tigers

well for one it makes no sense. it was started as a joke on nebraska. it doesnt bother me but whenever someone says it to be funny i chalk them up as seriously lacking humor.

%99.9 of LSU fans could care less and laugh it off. It's pretty lame if you think about it.

It would be the same as if we started calling South Carolina fans "The Pizzas" because of the smell from the Pizza Hut near their campus.

The silliest things about it is (1) people hear about it and believe it because "some Auburn fan posted it in an LSU board" years ago. I was told fairy tales when I was young and believed them at the time....then I grew up!; (2) None of them seem to know where it originally came from, but ignorance is bliss; (3) it almost always is a last resort response on a board when the discussion of LSU comes up, and someone is left without anything else to say because of ownage.

Oklahoma. There's one.

But, like the Energizer Bunny; It keeps going and going and going.

I kind of like it.

Corndogs, LSU, Baton Rouge and Louisiana have very little in common.

If the other folks want to continue to believe lies and falsehoods, then they will be well equipped to enjoy life in the future under this regime.

Considering that this little joke has been going on for three years or longer, I have to wonder when LSU fans will stop talking about it.

How many barners does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Just one... One barner, one cow, and a gigantic light bulb.

corndogs were used by BAMA to trap big dumb redneck to play football during the BEAR era, they assume that we are the top sec team that we must be using the corndogs also, WRONG

There are a lot of things said about us stinkin' swine, our pig slop, pig sh!t, etc., etc. Funny thing is, we actually feel pretty good about how disgusting we smell, etc. to others.

We all know that you won't find a corndog anywhere near Tiger Stadium tailgating. I think it's probably a case of all those redneck schools being jealous of the gumbo, jambalaya, et tou fe, boiled shrimp, etc, etc, that Tiger fans cook, while they are grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, and oh, maybe even chickens. Lsu fans and traditions are different from any other SEC school and they all seem to hate us for it.

I remember driving to Austin for the '03 Texas - Arkie game. The rest stops were full of arkies sleeping in their cars. That was validation of all the years of trash talk.

As far as corn dogs I don't get it, but it could be worse. I loves me a state fair corn dog.

Not so sure. My Home Ec teacher in High School fried lots of foods. If I had put a name on it, she smelled like corn dogs. We fry lots of stuff as well, so I guess we may smell the same.

The food's good, though, so my response is: so?

I really don't care what they call us, when I think we're going to win the world series. Almost makes it more satisfying to beat a team when they are trying to make fun of us before the game.

They are mostly impressed. I have never heard anything but good things about the cooking, e.g., "LSU is in a league all their own when it comes to their cooking." and they mean it in a positive way. They might not be humble enough to admit it to your face, but this is true. Dayum, y'all know how good it is......and it is good (along with a lot of other traditions)......what else matters?
