As soon as I saw SU was the #4, I thought the same thing.

I would just start Ranaudo like we did in the regular season. Southern is too good imo for us to start Ross

We have too many viable options to NOT start Ross.
If we can get 7 innings out of Ross and get to Bertuccini/Ott, then so be it. If Ross tanks early, Bradshaw, Cain, and Byrd showed this weekend they can step it up. Plus, there's Matulis, who didn't even pitch this past weekend.

I think Ross will and should get the start against Southern he has pitched well in his last few outings.

Southern doesn't have a chance to win this regional but if you don't think they could upset LSU on Friday, you could be in for a surprise.

Matulis beat them in the regular season. (11-5)
We beat up their best lefty. We win that game no matter who we put out there.

I say they should pitch Bradshaw, he has been showing a lot, earned it, and it would save Ross in case we slip up in a later game.

I don't see why the rotation wouldn't stay the same.

Because in the weekend series games the competition was against other solid SEC teams. In the SEC tournament the competition was against other solid SEC teams. But in the regional, game 1 is against inferior competition (no offense to the Jags and yes I am aware that any team can win on any given day). You may see Ross vs Southern, but you WILL NOT see Rinaudo or Coleman.
Look for the rotation to go back to what it has normally been if/when we get to the super regional and the CWS.

I think there is about a 1% chance.

You aren't looking.
There is a huge advantage to having your top 2 pitchers remaining after game 1. There is even a bigger advantage to having your top 3.
Personally, I'd pitch Bradshaw against Southern. If you win the game (very likely) you have a huge advantage over the other teams because you'll have a pitching advantage in every game you play...even if you move into the loser's bracket.
If you somehow lose the game, you still have Ranaudo against the loser of the 2/3 game, one of your midweek starters against Southern again (assuming they lose in teh winner's bracket game) and then Coleman and Ross against whoever is in the winner's bracket. Basically, you still have a pitching advantage because our #3 is at least going to be as good as their #3 all things considered.

I see you lack confidence in LSU.

Plus there is a good chance that the Jags won't start their ace as he pitched a ton of innings his last 2 outtings, in the 140's the last game. Also, they may "concede" the loss & save him for a game they figure mite be easier to win.

Southern has beaten four teams in the top 200, zero in the Top 50, and you want to throw Ranaudo at them?

If they aren't throwing their ace, the best pitcher we should throw at them is ross. At that point, I would definitely consider the likes of Byrd or Bradshaw. A postseason W for those guys would be a big boost in confidence in case we need them later
