I see no correlation between not being a "bandwagon" fan and knowing and/or caring how good Southern University is. What Southern does means nothing to LSU (other than dragging our RPI down).

LSU has won most games but outside of the 21-10 game, its seems they have been competitive games.

This is hilarious. Southern fans on this board talking shite.

BTW, I will be pulling for you guys in the loser's bracket games. You are, after all, a Baton Rouge team.

I've seen him here before. It's got nothing to do w/ him being from Tulane. He's a black poster w/ a monumental chip on his shoulder, re: whitey.

Nothing like a big T supporter clamoring for reparations. Who's the father time guy for SU who always said "take him deeeeeep"

FWIW, I don't think any real true SU fan is going to come in here guaranteeing victory or any stupid shite like that. I'm even sure there will be SU "fans" that show up at the box on Friday that haven't seen a game played by SU in 5 years, just because its against LSU.

FWIW, I take Southern very seriously. If they weren't playing very good ball right now, they very likely wouldn't be in the tournament at all. And it's not like they haven't surprised LSU before.

It's baseball. Anybody can win one game. But while I won't say Southern is overmatched, I don't think their chances of winning are all that great. That's why I find al the shite-talking here so funny.

Should be a fun game. After Nicholls st., ULL and Tulane all beating us this season, I doubt anyone will take them lightly

I don't think there is any doubt they are overmatched. Especially in pitching. Hopefully they can overcome the odds and win, at the very least keep it competitive, and if nothing else knock out Minnesota and/or Baylor.

"Jewlame" Really? Are you really that stupid that you must result to religious and/or racial slurs to make a point. Tulane sucks on the fact that it is Tulane and it is filled with a%$holes....and rick jones is a prick. I'm a Jew, as was Skip Bertman and there are hundreds of Jews that go to LSU and i take offense to being lumped into any name or slur that represents Tulane. The only thing i hate worse then Racial slurs is tulane and sir you went too far.

TSU beat Rice in a regional in 2004. The same Rice program that everyone on here seems to be worried about in the Supers. I know for a fact that SU can hit and if they get hot and can put up some runs and if LSU is having one of those off days you never know what will happen. Just because the jersey says LSU on the front doesn't mean they can just turn it on at anytime and mount a comeback. I'm glad all of these baseball gurus realize that LSU never has an off night

When was the last time LSU lost to a 4 or 6 (old format) seed in a regional?

Anything can happen, but you have a greater chance of getting struck by lightning this weekend than LSU losing to Southern.

I'm not predicting and upset, but crazier things have happened, all I am saying is that Southern can hit and if Ross has an off night, and SU can jump out to a sizable lead then team morale can drop fast and guys try to do too much. That is how powerhouses get beat. Some people just fail to realize that.

It's the old adage about if you let them hang around long enough, they start to think they can win. Nobody told THEM it wasn't supposed to be a contest.

I agree w/ this. Seen it happen too many times.

I think everyone understands there is a very small chance of losing to a 4 seed. But most don't bother focusing on such low odds.

Even our coach understands the odds of losing to Southern is low. That's why Ranaudo or Coleman isn't pitching.

I might amend my hate crimes list...who knows.

Back to business...having seen the ragarms that Baylor and Minnesota trot out, Austin Ross is the 4th best pitcher in this regional behind Coleman, Ranaudo, and Ott. Southern will have the wobbly knee going come Friday.

Has that been announced? I thought Coach Mainieri said he wasn't going to make that decision until tomorrow.
