He will sue, because everyone does with the NCAA now.

What a disaster for him and Tech.

Going from a projected first two rounds pick to at best getting a camp tryout

Pretty sure most people assumed the NCAA would permanently ban him once it came out that he placed bets on his own team's games.

The real question is how will the NFL handle it.

They’ve made their general rule on stuff that happens in college stays in college and don’t typically review things that happened prior to them being in the league as part of their conduct policy

His draft stock would tank for sure but not sure the NFL would directly punish him but would def have him on a close eye

Sports betting is driving a ton of revenue for NFL. And any suggestion of games being fixed could cause huge issues for NFL. Remember the NFL came down really hard on Calvin Ridley, who wasn’t even betting on his own games, and was betting like small change. They may blackball this dude entirely based on this

You serious?

If he has any talent at all he will get a pass and a shot some place

NFL teams let all kinds of shitty things slide as long as they go through some sort of "rehab" so they can sell it to the fans

Boutte basically did the same thing while at LSU
He's employed by the Patriots

While this is true. Gambling scandals is actually the #1 fear of professional sports. Not domestic abuse, not even murder. Gambling will hurt the "integrity" of the games being played on the field.

10 years ago sure, but they’re clearly comfortable being in bed with gambling and gambling partners in the more recent past. Kayshon Boutte had a similar issue in college and faced no NFL repercussions

When did that general rule start? Because it wasn't like that in 2012.

Agreed. But DUI's, reckless driving, or assault charges doing bring the integrity of games into question. Especially after there's been a number of recent gambling scandals with NBA and college basketball players.
