From Scone,...Not really much but here are the points.
- The offense showed consistency, scoring seven touchdowns across 16 total possessions. Additionally, they successfully kicked one field goal.
- Longstreet and Landon Clark continued to split reps with the ones and twos, with Longstreet generally taking the first reps with the ones
Standout Playmakers:
- Malik Elzy had four receptions of 20+ yards
- Harlem Berry had a 55-yard run while the other backs were able to consistently have 5-6 yard runs with a few 10+ sprinkled in. (Run game is much improved)
- Trey’Dez Green is a nightmare. He snagged a one handed touchdown in the back of the endzone during 2 minute drill.
- Only one interception thrown by Longstreet. Turnover worries are subsiding.
- Offensive line is athletic and mean.
Besides losing Reliford and Anding, this has been one of the better springs. Defense came in looking dominant and the offense was able to takeover and gel by the end. Offensive line comes away being the most improved unit and not just because they were so bad.. they actually can run block now.
You found your QB2 who now appears to know the offense well enough to start. All the wideout pickups are panning out better than expected.
We may have possibly found a gem with Dilin Jones at RB.
Freshman CB Havon Finey is playing well beyond his years and looks to soften the blow of losing Anding and Lamar Brown is about to add more pass rushing to the edges.
Oh yeah Leavitt threw some passes in 7 on 7. Last dominoe to fall.

A confident backup and a physical run game (oh how we’ve missed this) forming right when we exit Spring ball

Amazing what coaching and scheme can do.

Thanks for the notes, hope another reporter states some stuff also. Mascona is utter garbage

Also after last year, this terrifies me for the defense

The fact that he uses a pun based on a word that has no relation to Louisiana culture or heritage etc., shows how stupid that guy is. “morning scone” lol what a cuck

Sounds great but I try to temper expectations until camp starts.
Ive read about 10 post spring recaps from their own team reporters and every single one is saying everyone is a beast and this team is special.
Everyone is undefeated in April

I read recently that the OL coaches have been emphasizing lowering their pad level and firing off the line.
I’m not a coach , but even I noticed the lack of this execution in the last few years.
I’m pleased with the new coaches.

Lowering the pads and firing off is, of course, important.
For me the lack of an attitude is the biggest problem. O-linemen are supposed to be nasty…. You’re supposed to push people around. Pull defenders off the pile, off your QB and skill players.

I had to read this a couple of times to figure out which word you are referring to. If it’s “scone,” you may legit be retarded.

You do that by lowering your pads

This is stupid and if continued throughout a game will lead to penalties.

Yes, by lowering your pads, which I said.
But the attitude is important.
You can have your pads low and still be a pussy.
Coming from someone who had never played o-line a day in their life, I’m sure….

at 295 lbs why do we think he is playing edge? not a bitch, just a question.
NM, I guess being listed as a DE one could assume that... LOL
