Yes, we lost 2 and are on the verge of being swept for the third weekend in a row. But since last weekend, most of us have given up hope for postseason play and turned the focus to the future.

Braun, Serna, and Arrambide will be the heart of the lineup next season and are playing very well.

Ruckert and Patrick are getting their shot and look like they belong in an LSU jersey. Productive at bats and hustle is evident and something we’ve missed this season.

Returning the weekend staff of Evans, Schmidt, and Moore could be a real strength. Should be able to find one more weekend starter to compete from the portal. Nobody can hit Lachenmayer either. Threw about 40 pitches and State put one ball in play, which was a 4-6-3 double play. Cut down on the walks and he could be the go to guy out there pen.

Don’t know about everyone else, but I at lease had fun for the first time since Easter watching baseball, even if we lost both games.

Nothing was fun about being up 7-2 and 7-3 and blowing those leads. And everyone knew we were going to blow them. Zero fun for a real fan.

I can’t say I’ve had much fun watching this team at all this year.

I hate how we’ve been playing g as much as anybody. But some people don’t realize how much more we’d be winning with just doing a few things a bit better. We’re not that far from being a really good team. They have to put emphasis on getting better at the little things.

Who's catching? because neither have shown they have the ability to consistently receive a baseball behind the plate.

That excuse stopped working a few weeks ago. Had we started doing those few things better and winning more games, then it's fine. We aren't though.

I think you're confusing "fun" with "competitive."

Very little about the past 2 nights has been fun, but at least we're not rolling over and taking it like last weekend.

I’m at the point where I stopped caring if it’ starts “clicking”
In time to make the post season. I’m now at the point where I want to see improvement anywhere we can improve so we know what we have to work with next year. And we have the lalent to be much better.

I wouldnt call it fun, but i was impressed with what we did the last 2 days, most teams missing half their starters offensively and 2 starting arms would get swept, and probably by some massive scores. This team with a bunch of freshmen playing is showing grit. Like it

Ruckert is a defensive liability. When he is not kicking balls to the outfield he is missing 2nd base or throwing the 1b off the bag. He has 4 errors, 2 of which came as a "defensive replacement"

I'm sure he will improve, but he is far from "looking like he belongs in ans LSU jersey"

The minute you take it so serious it’s no fun is the minute you should find something else to do. It’s just not that important.

Way to completely miss the point. What is fandom? Enjoying incompetence? Losses? Moral victories? It’s the exact opposite. It’s hating all of those things but you still show up. Pretending to or actually enjoying the last two games in any way proves you’re not an actual fan. You’re a casual observer and should probably not criticize people who truly care.

I’ve been saying this all season.
As bad as it’s been, in most all losses, there is 1 or 2 innings of mind boggling stupidity, and if we eliminate those few innings, we are top half of the SEC at least.

For example Friday, 6th inning, I think- gave up 2 runs on no hits. How does that happen?

We are flat bad right now, finding ways to lose. Yet so close to being in pretty good.

I don’t see things turning around this year. But I’m hoping that the younger guys are getting some valuable playing time, and a really bad taste in their mouths so they refuse to let this happen again.
