Does anybody else think “America 250” is being downplayed?

Hear me out. During Covid in 2020 I watched this series on Netflix called “Turn” straight through. It had originally come on AMC a few years prior and I had learned about it through word of mouth.
Prior to, I had always considered myself a “WW2 buff”, but after this show I became a “Rev War Buff”. I also discovered during Covid I am eligible, and later joined, the Sons of the American Revolution. To think one of my ancestors fought and beat those despicable Redcoats made me very proud.
I’ve always liked Boston and thought about, last year, flying my kids up there to see the 250th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. But from what I read on the internet, they weren’t doing much (wokism perhaps)?
This summer, I’m thinking of taking my family to Philadelphia for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, but again, it doesn’t look like they are doing much. Is it worth it? Is wokism downplaying this?
I’m a 90s kid who watched Dazed and Confused about 1976 and I just thought America’s 250th anniversary would be a bigger deal. Why isn’t it?

Half the country isn’t real proud of the history you and I see and feel immense pride in.

I kindve had the same thoughts but maybe it’ll get bigger the closer it gets? Idk. I was in Canada not long after their 150th Canada Day a few years ago and it was a massive deal still. Big signs everywhere and advertising and all sorts of shite.

Might be time for TV stations to dust off some their ‘76 spots. Just don’t watch if you just popped some acid or sensitive to flashing lights.

Now that you mention it, yes.
It would have been cool if there was a huge week-long festival in DC where people from every state brought food, music, art, animals, and other unique / educational presentations to represent their respective states.
And it could be broadcast every day on PBS where they feature a few states a day with Rick Steves as one of the hosts.
And they could have a 90's / early 2000's style, primetime network television concert special that would be broadcast around the world followed by the most technologically advanced, AI-powered fireworks show that breaks the Guinesss world record as the longest and most expensive fireworks show in all of recorded history.

Chevy is coming out with semiquincentennial edition cars much like they did for the Bicentennial.
Also, at the Ford dealership in Collierville, there's a massive America 250 flag they fly every day in place of their usual American flag.

We have multiple digital billboards along I-10 in Houston that (paraphrased, I was doing over 90) say "250th anniversary to World Champs," And Houston got a fleet week for the first time!
