Pun intended. Screw that tax money, not having to deal with the new Cortana is going to be worth it. Count your blessings St George

BRPD can’t police the area so EBRSO still has to deal with it, affecting StG.

I know Jeff Landry and his team read this board…

So Jeff time to call in the NG and use your Trump connections and do for BTR what they did for Memphis.

Stop sitting back and seeing our places go to shite.

Multiple shootings at LSU home games on campus, multiple dead at the mall, when is it enough Jeff?

St George still has its ghetto areas it likes to ignore - O’Neal & S Harrell’s Ferry comes to mind

Besides paying more taxes how has the StG area improved?

Why is the new quoting TJ Morse on this incident? I could have sworn the mall was outside his jurisdiction

IIRC, the anchors are part of one city and the rest of the mall is part of the other, so it is a clusterfrick of jurisdiction.

Take a number. Shreveport is way ahead of BR in need of this.

It is messed up... If i remember correctly it's actually worse than that.... the stores themselves are in one jurisdiction, while the 'hallways' are in another.

Wouldn’t that make the city with the stores non-contiguous? (Albeit with the non-contiguous parties of the city only something like 20 feet away from the contiguous portion.) There would be some amount of hallway separating some of the stores from each other.

Is there anything in the Louisiana Constitution that says that cities have to be contiguous?

Also, it’s kind of ridiculous how the city with the stores would seemingly get all of the sales tax revenue from the mall, while the city with the hallways would bear the cost of policing the hallways in the mall.

I remember how they cut off the properties around the mall that didnt want to become part of BR and basically gave them 2 options - BR or remain unincorporated.

(EDIT: That might have been the shopping area off seigan or maybe both have the issue)

What I don’t understand is how BR can still not be offering equal services to these annexed areas around 6 years after becoming part of BR. That doesn’t seem like equal protection.

I would imagine the big police pay raise that’s coming is gonna be up the force they have been under manned for years on top of all the damage Broome did in neutering their ability to police. I like the new chief and now he finally will have the tools in an administration that will support to do the job.

Not the way it's mapped out. It's contiguous.

I agree. It's ridiculous.

I’m pretty sure the mall is city of BR and the anchors (maybe not all of them) are St. George.

ETA: It’s not just the hallways. All of the non-anchor stores and hallways are city of BR.

there is another thread with St Georgians already bitching about Perkins Rowe being too dark already.

The only way to "solve" this problem is brutal police enforcement. You have to police the frick out of them - as well as the public needs to have massive support behind the police. Or it will just get worse and dilapidate. Broken window situation.
