I'm not sure what season this was - maybe 1983. Our season tickets were near the top in the south end zone. I used a 200 mm lens with super fast b&w film for this shot. I came across the faded b&w recently and had Grok colorize it for me:

Cool photo. Was that really FL St colors back then or did it not get them right?

Yes. That was the Night it Rained Oranges. I was a student at that time and I consider game as the high point of my time in the student section.

Edit
That was not the night it rained oranges.
We played Florida State several times in Baton Rouge in the early 80s.

Dalton Hilliard the GOAT for me for LSU running backs.

Never saw Alexander but give me DH over the rest. 3 X All SEC

The Fla St colors are wrong in this photo, had to go double check. On Youtube you can see the colors on the helmet (spear alernate colors, leg stripe and numbers) should be garnet

In '83 Florida State was our season opener, I remember going with my grandfather to the Ole Miss/Tulane football game that day. He brought a radio and was giving me updates.

Dalton Hilliard is the first LSU player that I can remember being a fan of from when I was a kid. Always will be one of my favorite players.

It was so much fun watching Hilliard juke people in open field.

Must have been 83 - I could not have gotten that shot hand-holding the camera at night. It had to be a day game. Sept 1983.

I’d rather see it in black and white than a AI colored version. Can you post the B&W?

When they actually wore pads. Big arse knee pads and thigh pads too even though Dalton didn't need thigh pads. He had tree trunks but could juke and run over players that's what I liked about him.
