When he's losing his entire outfield and one of the top five shortstops in the game, not to mention that the starting pitching and bullpen are suboptimal. We know about the portal, but as this year proved, it's a crap shoot.

He goes back to the portal and tries again. Every transfer is a gamble.

Pray that our billionaires Todd Graves and Holden are as pissed about baseball as they were football and give JJ $20M to buy the best roster in the sport.

He’s going to have to hit big in the portal. We have some young talent, but not nearly enough. And not sure any of them are cornerstone piece type guys.

They aren’t we might be looking at back to back losing SEC seasons without a regional. The fall was quick and real.

He doesn't have multiple years to do so. Verge and the TAF are some ruthless mofos.

Remember A&M was pre-season #1 last year and missed regional all together and have turned it back around in a year

Can you count on another guy like Ethan Frey to develop into an All-American over a 4-year career? Probably not. That’s where we are now. Every season is going to be a crap shoot from now on

Get a grip. Jay has won 2 national titles. He knows what he’s doing.

If that happens, Verge will step in. Remember, he didn't hire him, Fat Scott did.

Silver lining is he’ll have a big head start for the portal (see A&M last year vs this year)

No idea if the impending MLB lockout is good or bad as far as the draft goes. But keeping the current class more intact will def help us

It’s a lot easier had you kept Ryan, Costello and Larson.

I’m afraid this past off-season has multiple year effects.

This. Jay is a better coach than what Aggie has. He just has a team that either doesn’t listen to him or just doesn’t know what the F to actually do.

Could have time to jump in early if they don't hit the post season.

I had my doubts about Verge initially, but the way he went after Kiffin and Wade shows that he's relentless. He's not going to put up with this shite for long.
