HIRE A HITTING COACH!
Thanks.
Thanks.

It’s less about the hitting coach and more about the quality of players we have.
Posted on 4/17/26 at 8:17 pm to DeathValley85
for the same reason you hire a pitching coach.

Jay Johnson has twice said "this is the most talented team he has ever had".

Not the hitting coach. Get better players.

I thought that was Brian Kelly.

Yea bro Jake Brown and Derek Curiel are kinda proof its not the hitting coach. Combined our transfer portal infield we have built last two years is hitting below .250 and has as many errors as they do Hrs.

That's why you need a HITTING coach.

We couldn’t hit consistently against non SEC pitching early on. Also pitching couldn’t handle non SEC lineups. We all saw this is not our year before conference play started. It feels like the A’s would have looked like this if Billy Beane would have went with his scouts’ gut feelings instead of the moneyball stats guy.

Jay can’t build a consistently elite regular season team. He’s very fortunate he’s gotten on two hot streaks in the postseason because it’s covered up for the fact that he’s not a very good consistent program building coach

So you give up 10 runs and you want a new hitting coach?

No SEC titles during his tenure leads credence to this.

Recruit some players who can, pitch, catch, throw, and hit! Recruit some Louisiana kids and portal kids who come from big time programs, not mid-major programs.

It’s not too much to ask for no absolute stinker seasons. Doesn’t need to be elite. Post season. That’s it. Still no one wants him fired. It’s just disappointing. Like football not making a bowl game. Shouldn’t happen but especially not in baseball.
