Man, what a time to be alive.
I ‘member Deana Carter playing there waaaaaaay back in the 90’s. “Strawberry Wine!”

The 15 minutes of country music rotating with 15 minutes of hip hop and techno music in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. What a time to be alive.
Also the night before thanksgiving when the lines to get in would go out to almost Florida boulevard.

The greatest night to go out in the 80’s. The line would be 2hrs to get in if you don’t get there early.

Only Honky Tonk I know of in BR, still kickin' and selling out every once in awhile. If only they moved out the hood to a better location but its cemented there due to history

What a time to be alive in BR. A friend of mines uncle owns the place. Spent plenty of Wednesday nights there looking for lonely ladies and saw DAC play there many times.

You go left or right in there?

A Thanksgiving Tradition like no other…

Really? For some reason I thought it opened in the 70s for some reason. I think because it has always been there since I was old enough to remember, I just assumed that, but that place has a strong history of performers.

I remember you had the Baker boys on one side, the central boys on the other. You tried not to mingle in opposition territory

Saw DAC there three times. Two were good but one was truly bad

River City was the first band to sell it out.
I believe they played the opening night.

I was at the really bad one. Coked to the gills, pissed at the world, shaking so bad he couldnt hold on to guitar pic. Went off big time on a band member in lead in to first song. I dont believe he finished first song, longhaired redneck before kicking out a stage light and stumbling off stage. As a 17 yr old drunk off my arse and twenty feet away, a 6' 10" insane ex-con almost stroking out in rage left quite the impression.
Went to three others of his there as well...or maybe it was 3 total. Lot of things happened in that place that I don't remember. And thats probably a good thing. I do remember that a stretch in one show that was just as insane for how good it was in his condition at the time.

For some reason I thought it was Hank Jr. or someone really big for the time.
I know George Jones and Merle Haggard played there a month or so apart not soon after they opened.

I met his wife a few months after she graduated high school. I lost touch with her when she was about 21. Nice girl.

Man, that shite was always hilarious when that transition happened. Every single time.

Not Texas club but Bear Creek had some crazy big time artist play there. When Garth was starting out he played twice I think

Saw at the Texas Club
Ricky Nelson
Merle Haggard
George Jones
Hank Jr.
George Strait
Ricky Skaggs
Jerry Lee Lewis
Amazing they could pull in that level of artist.
