“…we are hundreds of officers short. And we have people working extra shifts all the time to just get to minimums. So we are working, delays are sometimes significant. We're trying to improve that as best we can, but people are — we are stretched thin." - Kent Loux President, Seattle Police Officers Guild

Probably one of the easiest places to be a cop.

1. Nobody really expects you to do anything.
2. You don't really need to do anything thanks to #1.
3. Since they're so understaffed you can likely get a shite-ton of OT.
4. Nobody really expects you to do anything on OT.
5. You don't really need to do anything thanks to #4.

They have a projected budget shortfall of $140M for 2027. That’s expected to grow to $300M by 2029.

I think Austin is down 600 officers. I was trying to explain to my old hippie Uber driver why yesterday.

He didn’t like the reasons one bit

delays are sometimes significant

1. Enact strict gun laws on the populace.
2. Short staff the police to create significant delays in response time to crimes.

We are progressing so mf’ing hard, progressive bros.

Anyone going to Seattle

1. Goes to the market
2. Gets in a cruise

Otherwise - good luck because nothing else is covered

Seattle cops. Dad assaults two teen hockey refs and they let him go. Seattle has no cops.

Seattle, Portland, San Francisco- they all used to be real jewels.

Now, just stinky turds.

Sad…

Based on what metrics? Nothing I can find seems to support that.

That fricker is lucky he didn’t get his arse beat to a pulp by other parents. I grew up playing hockey and the hockey community is tight and doesn’t put up with shite like that. I guess things are different in Seattle.

We have close friends there and they love it. Now, they have the means to live in a beautiful area adjacent to hiking trails and such, so it doesn’t reflect the inner city.
