Would you trade with the Giants for pick 5?

Almost all the mock drafts coming in this week have zero OL being drafted before pick 8. Reese, Bailey, Styles, Downs, Love, and Tate are all likely to be gone by the Saints pick. This'll most likely leave Bain, Delane, or Tyson to pick from. Would you give our 3rd round pick to move from 8 to 5 for Styles or Downs or Love? None of those will be there at 8.

Depends on the price I guess, but I’m assuming it would at least be a 2nd round pick. I’d rather have Tyson and a 2nd than any of those guys in the top 7 in your scenario.

We are in no capacity to be trading up. Keep stacking talent

Anything more than an even swap, and I am keeping the 8th spot

No not even for a third, definitely not for a 2nd.

Just take Delane if u want a safe player that can start day one. And keep all your picks.

Knowing Loomis, he will trade up to 5 and take someone he could have gotten in the second round.

No thanks.

The last time that the Saints did that in the first round they moved up to get Olave. I don't remember how many spots they moved up but just that the eagles certainly got the way better end of the deal than the Saints did

and of course the very next year they picked in our spot and took Jalen Carter

None of those players are worth moving up for

Besides, moving up would require giving up a 2027 first and doing that is a fireable offense. The talent in that draft far surpasses this one

they did not; they had to trade up

As for OP, I would trade a 3rd to move up 3 spots and get the guy we covet

Nope.

If I'm sure Delane will be on the board at 8, I'm keeping my picks and drafting the best CB

No. We will have the opportunity to draft a day 1 impactful starter at a position of need at 8.

I just want best defensive player possible at pick 8.

Reese
Bailey
Styles
Delane
Bain
Downs

One should be there.

Just need Mendoza and Love to go top 7. I’m hoping 4 offensive players go top 7. Would really like Styles or Delane

depending on cost....I would be fine moving up for Bailey (wouldn't be there) or styles

past those two, you may as well wait on BPA

okay so that's right. they moved up one whole spot to get him at number nine

we put them in prime position to do so with that trade The year before.

To move from 8 to 5 would be the value of a 3rd round pick.

Only moving up to pick 1 or 2 would require a 2nd this year or a 1st next year (and additional compensation).

People always falsely assume moving up a few spots in the first takes way more than it actually does, when only pick 1 (especially) and 2 hold incredibly skewed value compared to the rest of the picks.

For reference, going from 8 to 5 is a 3rd, and 8 to 3 is a 2nd.

Moving from pick 8 to pick 5 would only take a 3rd round pick, especially when there it's not for a QB.

Correct, but I also think the more likely trade up partner is Cleveland at 6 since they need to move down

I don’t think the Giants are necessarily looking to get out of 5

I am hoping Loomis has grown past making unnecessary aggressive trade ups. There is no reason to trade up. We will get one of the best players with the 8th pick
