Why would a Catholic Cardinal not promote open borders to migrants from majority Catholic nations?
ETA: I am not pro open borders, I just understand why a Catholic Cardinal would be, especially when they’re getting paid hundreds of millions of NGO dollars. Church gets a ton of funding and more parishioners. Seems like a win/win for them.

I’m a Catholic who is anti illegal immigration. As a citizen or if an elected official responsible for carrying my duty to enforce our laws, I would do so. As we have seen, uncontrolled immigration has lead to innocent people in our country like that poor Florida woman getting murdered with a hammer. Her death was not for a righteous reason but a result of a humanitarian crisis in our country.
We need to protect our citizens first, and one good way to do that is having regulated immigration standards—not open borders.

It is hilarious to watch redneck Protestants just attack an entity they do not understand. Literally, they’ve been told from the pulpit what belief. The Catholic Church truly tries to live out what the gospel teaches, and that includes immigration and loving my neighbor. Which is a tough thing for protestants in the south.

Of course it is, but the migrants in Europe are overwhelmingly Muslim, while in the USA, they’re overwhelmingly Catholic. There’s a pretty big difference there when you’re discussing the stances of high ranking officials in the Catholic Church.
The entire purpose of the Catholic Church is that it’s supposed to serve as the ONE Church…for everyone…in every country. The Pope’s job was historically to crown Kings, and was considered ABOVE heads of state in status.

So, do you believe that so many of these criminals that crossed over our borders ... do you believe that them being Catholic affords them a special pass?
Do you believe that they all have good intentions?
What about Muslims?
If the Mullahs want more radical Islamists allowed into this country ... does their high standing within the hierarchy of Islam afford them the Right to determine immigration law within this country ... or the world?
Since when are countries' economic, criminal law, safety and security ... since when do religious leaders hold governing status and decision-making power over elected officials and the various systems of law?

There is no difference, If you don't have borders you don't have a country no matter who is coming in. Compare the IQ levels of those from Central American countries to those of Middle Eastern countries. Both are extremely low.

The Catholic Church isn’t nationalistic. It is universal. Borders don’t matter to an organization that crowns monarchs. Where you worship from is of zero concern to the church. Diocese only care about donations, butts in seats, and school enrollment. You are thinking like a citizen, not like an organization with a very different set of values, incentives, goals, and structures.
