Aidan Anding might have made the two most impressive plays of Saturday’s scrimmage. He won’t be making any more for an extended time.

The sophomore cornerback tore his Achilles after hauling in an interception in Tiger Stadium. Multiple sources have confirmed the injury to LouisianaSports.net. Monday night, Anding made an Instagram post alluding to the news.

Achilles injuries are not good, I know that's obvious, but I really hope this kid can get back to full speed for 2027 and beyond.

We are thin at cornerback and he was going to get some real PT.

Hate it for the kid. The CB room was already pretty thin to begin with.

Seems to happen every year now, though maybe not this early.

To start: that’s awful for Anding. I have met him and he is a very nice kid, I’m praying for a fast recovery.

Is there any chance we can take any portal kids or grad transfers for depth at this point?

Thats just terrible, he was looking like the next Louisiana born great DB for DBU, all I'm concerned about now is him being prepared to go next spring, I really just hope he's able to fully recover for '27. Are there corners that have come back from this?

No portal guys for sure, there's no second portal, I don't think there's any way to get any players at this point

Yup especially for a corner with all the backpedaling, quick twitch and explosive movements.

Might as well play slow speed touch football.

Wonder if any backup safety can get some time at corner just in case
