Is this an attempt at a gotcha? You new to the transfer portal concept?
What’s McMahon up to? Did Malone hire him onto his UNC staff? The guy is supposedly such a great coach.

Insinuating Wade is getting skunked in the transfer portal is laughable. He just signed a bad arse expensive coaching staff. He supposedly has more NIL than last year. I think that class was 15 with a terrible coach putting that roster together.
You literally have a decade of examples of him doing the exact opposite of what you are suggesting. The lack of leaks or you not knowing what he’s doing is bc he’s a pro and will be signing dudes with precision when the time comes. He’s keeping everything quiet to increase his leverage in negotiations with players and keep other teams in the dark with who he is targeting to prevent poaching. We probably end up with a top 10 transfer class when it’s all done.

It’s been said multiple from multiple sources that while Wade is recruiting the portal, the current roster is good enough for him to coach and make the tournament next year.

Well I already know Wade is a better coach than MM. that is obvious from their careers and accomplishments at LSU.
No coach is taking this current roster of basically just Reece anywhere. If you gave Wade last years team he wouldn’t be in last place, he would have at least had us on the bubble if not in.
The point is we are building a team in the portal and I’m sure Wade will get us 6-7 good players, some pieces and some guys that need development. At most that will include 1 or 2 guys from last year.

Before or after Dedan Thomas and Jalen Reed had season ending injuries?

After, Wade isn’t finishing 3-15 in the second with a team that has no identity. Wade isn’t winning less than 8 games even with Reed and Thomas. In his final year we dealt with injuries including Penson going down and we managed to still stay afloat.
Also Wade wouldn’t have such a garbage roster that MM had. He also managed a NIT with a team that finished with 2 wins the year before, no portal, no automatic instant eligibility and a very short recruiting timeline.
It’s not even questionable if Wade is a better coach and program manager than MM. The record at LSU dictates that. If this was MM and we had no one signed there should be some concern but with Wade it’s wait and trust since he has proved he can get players.
Now we don’t get McNeil or any 100 plus transfers at all we can ask what went wrong since we clearly have a budget.
The more likely answer just like football is the basketball portal has evolved since it’s what year 4 of it? Other than following a coach directly or a major bag no one is moving fast. We have Wade, Stansbury, Jones and now Staudimire so I think they know how to identify talent and get it here.

I still think the funniest thing I ever saw related to this guy was when Mulkey in a press conference basically told him to sit down and he did it exactly like a toddler would do. It was funny at how Mulkey put that guy in his place.

Wade actually has 13 guys signed but he's not telling anyone until just before tip off of the first game.
