Nuss in the NFL

This isn’t intended to knock Nuss, I had really high hopes for him last year, it just didn’t work out( could be for multiple reasons).
But how bad is QBing the NFL if he’s now being projected as #3 QB off the board? Look I hope he does well, but from what we’ve seen I’m not confident he gonna cut it, we will see.

Should be able to make a practice squad for a half dozen years or so.

Poor QB class overall to begin with. Think this is likely the norm when you listen to Kiffin speak on how much easier it is to play QB in modern offenses.
Nuss was clearly injured and recently discussed it openly. BK lied to us (as if we didn't know) and everyone turned on Nuss after he churned out poor performance after poor performance.
He's got a big arm and can fit it anywhere on the field. Teams love that upside.

This isn't intended to knock you but how are you going to knock nuss when you can't even discuss his multiple reasons of why it didn't work out and the implications of where nuss is at now heading into the draft process. This is a fricking stupid thread but i mean that with all respect of course.

It is not about the fans…it is about the opposition every week. Good coaches never give accurate injury reports.

He will be a much better Pro QB Than Bk let him Be at LSU.
He was clearly injured last year, and his Oline has completely sucked for his 2 years as a starter.
Even 24, with Will Campbell. Pass protection was good, but there was NO running game, the Oline was soft as frick…. It’s hard to play QB in that system.

Journeyman backup for a while, make a few million, retire with pension.

With his pedigree and arm, someone is going to take a chance on him. Work on his decision making and timing some, and hopes he can be a good QB. Tom Brady was a sixth round pick and not rated highly... So it can happen. And at least one of the GMs in the league tells themselves that.
Someone will draft him 2nd-4th round. Even if he becomes a Chase Daniel, that still is years of getting paid doing what you love as a backup QB. Worse case, he goes PS and ends up out the league in a few years.
His potential is greater than a lot of back up QBs in the league. So he can find steady work. Can he mold that potential into one of the 32 best QBs and start? Who knows. That's on him and the system he enters.
My prediction based on draft needs and such is 3rd round pick to the Rams or Lions as a backup QB behind an aging QB or early 3rd round to compete for a starting spot like the Jets... Dark horse team I could see him going to is Steelers.

Exactly.

Nuss was hurt last year and played with an offensive line that was beyond terrible. I think he is going to be a good pro qb.

I wish him well but he doesn't have the brain capacity to be an NFL quarterback imo

I wish I could understand how some of you draw these conclusions.

I make a thread about how poor QBing must be for a guy benched in his senior year is now projected to be somehow #3 off the board and you go ape shite crazy about this being stupid thread and attack me?

Weak QB class and if there is one position where teams reach its QB.

Sure, but the casual fan could see he was unable to get anything behind his throws... he wasn't fooling anyone.

His father has been a QB coach or OC for a long time, and that's going to help him. He didn't run particularly simple offences, he's not a "system" guy.
NFL teams are going to look at that. Yeah, he made plenty of mistakes, sometimes a poor read but often it was under pressure trying to make something happen. And as noted, he wasn't physically in good shape this season, but still performed well at times.
When you consider who HAS made NFL teams, Nuss is in good shape. Maybe a journeyman backup, but that ain't a bad life.

It’s pretty bad, the rules have turned it into 7 on 7, the extended schedules have bloated the numbers and it’s hard to see through all the stats but the good ones still win when it matters. A lot of bad QBs put up decent to good numbers in the modern NFL.

We truly don’t know what he could have been without a legitimate offensive line.

Nuss could have success due to getting drafting by a good team and not the likes of Cincinnati or Washington.
