Oregon states schedule a joke. Back to back series wins against Mercer and Lamar

I hear you but we lost a series to Sac St at home.

I don't understand how Arkansas who has a worse record overall & SEC, is ranked.

Glad to see LSU is back ranked in D1 poll again.
I think LSU is positioned to start beating a lot higher ranked teams and quickly climb back up the polls.
Have to stop playing sloppy though.

Yeah I went and looked at their schedule to come up with a good reason to explain it, but I couldn't find much. The only real difference is that they have a better RPI

It’s b/c of name brand and early season polls. One of the reasons why polls are so inherently flawed.

Well I mean yeah, but brand name and early season polls apply to LSU as well...

LSU was #2 in most preseason polls and has more brand recognition than any other baseball program. This probably has to do more with a better non conference schedule and wins over those teams.

For example Ark has an RPI of 56 and a SOS of 33, LSU has an RPI of 70 and a SOS of 98. At the end it wont matter just win 17 conference games and you are in line to host.

Their non-conference schedule was only marginally better. And they still didn't steamroll through it.
It's pretty much just the series win against Mississippi State that's doing the heavy lifting for their ranking.

I think our stumble started earlier, and losing the first 2 series helped cement the impression we weren't good. Arkansas took their first two conference series, so people thought they were in good shape.

Imagine if all these voters just chilled and watched the games then had their first rankings after the Masters. But then they wouldn’t get the clicks and get paid.

We are a top 15 team without Yorke and outside the top 50 with him.

That 10 run rule of UCF looking better and better

Arkansas is 3-7 in their last 10 games lol they should not be ranked

Yes, I agree last series he looked bad. I think it might be time to give him a break and let him work out some of the issues he is having. However, I am still dumbfounded at the amount of people that just bash the dude over the last month when statically he was one of our best hitters (if you consider getting on base the primary objective).
Also I love that Caraway just gets a pass.

I don’t think Caraway gets a pass. There isn’t a long list of posters that want to see him on the field.

I have backed Yorke for the past few weeks, but after this weekend's play, I don't know if the pressure is getting to him or if he is just not meant to be in the SEC. He shows that he can perform in most instances and then he just looks terrible in others. Batting and fielding don't look great right now. He may be in his own head. I do hope he gets out of it and presses on for the back of SEC play.
