Let’s be real, NBA players are complaining about the hotel but really they mean the best trim in Memphis is the white working girl from hustle and flow

and was likely a random mid day of the week when nothing was going on in Memphis.

I would imagine those hotels down there get absolutely ghostly without anything going on. Not much life down there.... Beale St isn't what it use to be.......

Thats a full suite - NBA players mostly get standard rooms all on the same floor. The coach may get that suite (or Lebron type star) but not the players.

Kid failed in his review

Do you have any proof of this?

I think NBA players get luxury level suites at exclusive hotels and motels. Companies compete to be able to provide these services, as a sign of accomplishment.

I think they get a bit of both.

Tenure guys + level of star power you get better rooms.

That is true for sure.

One of the Pelicans rookies did a video diary for All-Star weekend for NBA.com or whatever and that is sort of what his room looked like so I imagine it’s a pretty standard room a team spends a night or two in

I don't think that video was even necessary to realize he was completely full of shite. Of course there are acceptable hotels in Memphis, and it's very unlikely the Lakers were putting them up in the Drury Inn.

Has anyone made a reality show that follows a broke, former NBA player getting reacclimated to normal life? I'd watch.

Looks like a million over Westins all over the world.

I could definitely see that looking pretty terrible when you stay at a Ritz, St Regis, or Four Seasons every night though.

I've been expecting one on when a former star goes overseas

idk, when that hotel was built, it was built in conjunction with the FedEx Forum and specifically to accommodate NBA visiting teams. The ceilings/doorways are higher, beds are longer, rooms are bigger. They're staying there one night and across the street from where they're playing. NBA players like Lebron are just divas, What they're really complaining about is the nightlife options which really shouldn't matter for a visiting team staying somewhere for 1 night

I've stayed in that Westin and attended a game at FedFex Forum during my stay in Memphis. The hotel is right across the street from the arena.

Westins are usually pretty nice in my opinion.

Westins should generally hit the mark for the 99.5% of us

And even that last 0.5% in many many markets.

There may be specific properties or rooms at a property that miss- but by large it’s a reliable high end brand

The NBA players stay at the Ritz when they come to New Orleans. Everyone is a luxury suite
