Is it just acceptance/stockholm syndrome or do you actually think this roster has another gear that would lead to an astronomical jump from bottom feeder to playoff team?

Blow it all up minus the rookies.

I'm not running it back.

I'm moving on from Murray and zion.

Hope fears, queen, and missi take the next step.

I’d probably include keeping Bey, at least for the meantime. I’d move Trey and (this hurts) Herb too.

“Go Big”

“I’m in”

“Run it back”

This has to be the dumbest social media & marketing department ever. Stephen A Smith is right on that point.

This might sound extreme, but there is an argument to trade every single player on this team except for Fears

I would even potentially trade Queen if we were able to get into the top 10 of this draft.

We should legitimately try to be as bad as possible and let Fears take his lumps like young Shai did.

We missed the window. We aren't competing w Houston, Denver, San Antonio, Minny, or OKC for 4-5 years

We need to wait for them to age out or teams to break up a bit and strike in 5 years

I'd trade Zion for anything. Bc even the best version of him, we are winning 32 games with him at the helm. That is prohibitive to not only our draft status, but also not letting Fears and Queen run the show and take ownership over the team.

I like Trey, but if we can get 3 picks for him, you do it. He's really not a consistent shooter night to night. He's either on fire or cold. He's bad defensively. He's always hurt. He's not an alpha leader. He doesn't fit our window at this point. Herb needs to go as well.

I think you still need veteran presence - that's why I'm keen on keeping Bey, Murphy, and Jones.

Murphy - 25 entering his prime
Jones - 27 in his prime
Bey - 27 in his prime

That's forgetting about moving poole's money too.

If we do this right, you could definitely look like a young team and acquire some assets to build up. I don't want to move any more future 1st.

In a world where you have 6 players who can contribute. You need to find 4 more.

PG: Fears/??
SG: Jones/??
SF: Murphy/Bey
PF: Bey/Queen
C: Missi/Queen

The only argument is that we may not have much of a choice if we don’t get any legit trade offers. In that case, running it back might be better than getting 50 cents on the dollar for Zion (still would take it), Trey, Herb or Murray. Bottom line is this team as constructed is at best, even if we enjoy really good injury luck, no more than a play-in team. The future is flat out dismal.

I would love to see things another way. Maybe a healthy Murray to start the year? Maybe Zion finally develops his game? It’s just so hard to see how this team could be a top six seed.

I would rather run it back, than any win now moves. I dont want them mess with any future pick or long contracts.

Either run it back or blow it up.

We are in a giant mess. As I understand NBA trade restrictions (admittedly at not the highest level), we are going to have some trouble even blowing things up. What a mess.

missi
another one that needs to go. Can’t defend, 23 minutes a game 5 pts 5 rebounds and 1 assist average. While shooting only 60 % from the free throw line. That project didn’t work, let’s move on

You have to trade him because he is one of our few somewhat valuable assets and because his contract timeline doesn't matchup at all with the timeline of building around a new core.

Run It Back means you're making win now moves.

Why in the world would players entering their primes want to stick around for a complete rebuild?

These are exactly the players that need to be traded. Players with value.

Stop thinking in terms of winning. That’s not the goal. The goal is to collect as many assets as possible.

Sign guys like Deandre Jordan for the minimum if you want vet presence. Anyone with an ounce of trade value outside of rookie contract guys should be traded.

Because there's still a balance in roster building when you need to spend a minimum too.

For years I've wanted to "take the okc route" and eat up bad contracts to stockpile picks and in doing so move on from any and every 2nd contract player possible. We've never done so and the way dumars started this regime, I don't think they'll ever purposefully crater and bottom out by moving all the talent we have.

yep people say they want to blow it up but only want to trade the guys with little value. You’re hurting your rebuild with lack of future assets. Gotta trade guys like Trey and Herb to give this rebuild a better chance to succeed long term. They’re the only ones that can potentially net you multiple firsts.

That’s why you take other team’s bad contracts for picks. You gotta trade the players with value.

And you’re right.. Dumars probably won’t do what needs to be done.
