Honest question, on a weekly basis what’s this costing you? Not talking about the price increases it may cause on other items you buy.

I paid 4.59 today (premium) and my wife and I average about 20 gallons a week total so an extra $1 per gallon is noise. It is just and in your face sort of thing that people notice, first the prices are on large lighted signs so you notice it multiple times a day even when you are "shopping" for fuel and when you buy fuel the number is right in front of you and the only thing you generally think about for several minutes.

For most people, fuel prices themselves are not a big issue it is just obvious, the real killer is in the increase in all the other goods and services which rely partially on oil prices, so basically everything. We are conditioned to equate fuel prices and prices for everything, which is indeed accurate, there is just a lag in prices for everything else.

Politics are so funny man.

3 years ago it was registered republicans whining about about gas prices being too high while registered democrats were saying it's no big deal.

Presently, the talking points have completely flipped.

Meanwhile, the politicians on both sides of the aisle are laughing together at how easily they have their supporters eating out of their hand.

Whatever it is, I pay it because I can’t do anything about.

I haven’t been driving my 7.3s anyway. Now THAT would be a little painful right now if they were daily drivers or for long-hauls. My truck is for yard and house work, firewood, and dump/sod/soil runs.

Van is for driving 1-2 hours into the mountains for some elevation to cool off and camping.

I’ll survive. Plus they can run on the spent oil I have stored up.
