youtube pro day

I don't care about his "short arms"

First of all he is super smart and loves the game. Secondly, his power and explosion just jumps off the screen. The saints really need to think about trading up a few spots imo.

It seems our cloud of players will be Love, Downs, Bain, Tate or Delane.

I see no reason why we won’t be able to get at least one of them. I really don’t want to trade up. But I guess I could live with securing our guy as long as the price isn’t too steep. The best trade up spot would probably be 6, right before Washington.

No way do I trade up in this draft. if anything maybe might trade back if it comes down to a choice between Tate
and Delane, if Downs, Bain, Styles, Balley, and Love are gone. But if Bain is still there at 8 you run to the podium to take him. Bain and a wr and safety in the 2nd and 3rd round would be an ideal scenario in my opinion.

In no way do you move up for a guy that is a physical outlier like that. If you want to gamble heavy on boom/bust status relative to picking him at 8 fine.

if we ran a straight 4-3 D it would be more of an option. I dont think he can play OLB.
IF you comp Cam, he's shorter and lighter than Cam, shorter arms, smaller wingspan, smaller hands about the same 40

IF you comp him against Maliachi Lawrance, ML looks like the better athlete at a better value.

Bain would have to kill the 3 cone and split for me to consider.

No way I am trading up this year. Like others have said, there will be a very good player available when the saints pick.

Terrible take. Most of the update mocks have him falling, some even out of the top 10.

I posted this in another thread, but it’s worth repeating.

I think this is a good breakdown on Bain vs. Bailey. IMO, Bain has maxed out his abilities. I think he will be good…he just won’t be able to get to the level of a Watt, Hutchinson, or Garrett.

Bailey or Reese might not get to that level either…but they have the possibility to get there and have produced at high levels.

Bain is not a physical freak kind of player. He lacks the measurables that would put him in that category. He’s in the 1st percentile in arm length and 5th in overall size.

Half his stats are during three of the four playoff games. That screams inconsistency to me. I know it’s the better competition, but why couldn’t he get sacks and tackles against the other teams he played all year? He’s not a closer. He gets “pressures”. We already have a guy who gets pressures.

IMO, he’s like a smaller version of Chase Young or Bresee. We already have that. We need a Pat Swilling, not a Wayne Martin.

Reese and Bailey will go before Bain for a reason. No way should you trade up for a guy like that.

I don’t think yall realize how much of a disadvantage that is in the trenches. He may very well be able to overcome it but it really is a big red flag and not worth the gamble in the top 10

I would not waste draft capital to trade up for anyone. We will have several good choices at 8 and Bain may or may not be in the mix.

The guy at the end said he’d pick Bain over Bailey b/c he’s one of the smartest players recognition lineman he’s ever scouted.

No moving up. Stay put and take Mansoor Delane and be happy you have your CB1.

Hes a 4-3 DE.

We run a 3-4. Styles, Bailey, Reese, Downs, and Delane fit better.

Yes he did. But he also talked about how his smaller size limits his upside. He also talked about Bailey’s lack of recognition as a reason he prefers Bain.

I think Bain would be good as a DE in a 4-3 who will be good at setting the edge, being a good run stopper and occasionally getting pressures. He won’t be a stud pass rusher though. When you’re picking top 10, you want a Parsons, Myles Garrett or Hutchinson, not Tyree Wilson.

Bain would fit rather easily, esp if Jordan isn’t signed

Fits better in a 3-4 than a 4-3

Why? Because he went to LSU? I don’t give a flying frick where he’s from, we need a #1 corner and that isn’t Kool-aid or Riley. Its a passing league, you better have good guys to control it.
