We're having a hard time playing consistent good ball and you're worried about hosting?

Hosting? Hosting!? You’re talking about hosting; I just hope we win another series.

Brother just be happy if this team even makes a regional. Hosting anything right now shouldn’t even be a thought with this team.

This will probably be another year where LSU travels to bum frick Egypt out in California or Oregon somewhere for a regional.

Our RPI would jump extremely quickly if we went on a winning streak which put our SEC record in a place to where we would host anyway. If we finish 38-18/17-13, our RPI will be top 20 and we will host. That would take a 17-7 finish though so not easy...

Win a couple series and that number will be in the 40s or 50s

Wild. You start a new thread mentioning how bad #81 in RPI is, yet in the same thread have expectations of us sweeping #11 at their place?

Asylum worthy delusion

why is it a problem. we just won 3 in a row in conference before the saturday loss.

yall motherfrickers are bi-polar as frick when it comes to anything, especially baseball.
were still the same team that crushed the ball during most of the last 4games before Saturday

Shockingly low! That's the lowest RPI I can remember for an LSU baseball team this deep into the season since 1983, the year before Bertman arrived. This team is in trouble, and without a serious run in conference play it won't make a regional.

Heck we finished 23 RPI in 2011 (36-20 overall, 13-17 SEC), and spent all of the month of June at home.

Midweek losses have killed our RPI. If we do get to .500 in SEC play my guess is that our RPI will be borderline to host. I just don't see it happening.

What was our RPI after 32 games in 2007, when LSU was 17-14-1 and had won just 3 SEC games? For comparison, we are 21-11 with 5 conference wins.

In 2011, we were 21-11 after 32 games, 3-9 in SEC play, and had been swept twice. They ended up going 10-8 in the SEC for the last 18 games.

If we continue to win SEC games and win our midweek games, our RPI will rise, even if we win 1 game per series away. Will 13-7 get us to a regional somewhere? Maybe. But it would be better to be 15-15. Also, in 2011, teams had to qualify for the SEC tournament, and LSU did not. That probably hurt their chances.

There are some problems, no doubt, but they really just need to hold serve plus 1 game, basically.

So win today, and it's hold serve, which would be win 1 series game away and win 2 series games at home for each series. That's 15-15 in the SEC and gets them to a regional, but not as a host.

If they lose today, they need to sweep a home series or win an away series to finish 15-15 in SEC play.

If we really are getting Cooper Moore back, that should help. If not it will be a bumpy ride unless the bats can find some consistency and everyone not named Milam in the infield can clean up their fielding. Though Pearson has been solid at third, I would say surprisingly, but I honestly do not know what a realistic expectation was.

But I am a sunshine pumper. When you start to see me continuously disparaging this team, you'll know it's time to quit watching.

I suppose Jay started believing it was his Coaching, and not talent, that was winning Championships.

We all know that's not realistic. .500 in league would be miraculous at this point

If you could guarantee me .500 in SEC play, I would take it today
