Yorke shouldn’t take another AB for the rest of the season

I went and watched Vandy play at Tennessee a couple of years ago and was shocked at how small the park was, it’s a disgrace to college baseball. What got lost in the shuffle of all of the homers and the win today was how inexcusably bad Yorke was at the plate.
Early on Yorke was at bat with a runner on first and third with less than two outs. His job there is to drive the ball in the air to the outfield or hit a ground ball to the right side to bring the runner home. What does Yorke do? He strikes out.
In the 4th inning when the game was paused for the trainer to evaluate the pitcher, Yorke had a 3-0 count and what does he do? He completely bails out the injured pitcher and pops it up to the infield. This was absolutely inexcusable and was infuriating to watch.
These low IQ AB’s and poor performances happen every weekend and I know because every time it happens I have three different buddies texting me about it. At this point Yorke is a net negative and he shouldn’t take another meaningful AB the rest of the season. If he was serious about playing college baseball then he would exercise more discipline in his life by losing weight and walking to plate with an actual game plan or strategy

This is a valid point, LSU is the pinnacle of college baseball and it’s disrespectful to everyone that’s come through this program for Yorke to be out there wearing that uniform. If I had the talent to play baseball at LSU I promise you I’d put in more effort than Yorke does to be in shape

Late season addition?

He'll probably have some big moment now, because of this thread.
Might be a month or so from now.

Lil JJ needs to put him on the bench. He got benched not too long ago and then comes back and hits a couple of homers against garbage competition and folks act like he had a Jesus of Nazareth reserrection/comeback

He came back off the bench and hit the ball very well in the midweek, and hit the ball well against UK.
No one came on here saying he was incredible and/or untouchable. Just that they hoped he had turned a corner.
He plays the best 1B defense on the team. He gets on base. He is not performing as well as he should/can.
The constant Yorke threads are so fricking tiresome. They all say the same shite and then someone says he's fat. It's the same thing every single time.

Yorke is all up in his own head. Jay needs to set him down and set his head straight.
I mean Yorke comes from a baseball family. So, he should certainly know that swinging the bat (pop up) on a 3-0 count is just not sound baseball on this level. Just an example.

We were watching the game today. I said that I just assume when he comes up he’s an easy out or, at best, a walk.
My best hope when I see him is he never swings and gets walked or is hit by pitch.

If you’re upset by the Yorke threads then don’t click on them and read them. If Yorke wasn’t out here completely lost and even had somewhat of a clue as to what he was doing, then the threads wouldn’t exist. He swung the bat today and popped up to the infield on a 3-0 count against an injured pitcher - he’s hurting the team and a change needs to be made

did jay give him the green light? we may get our answer tomorrow when we see the lineup. if we could get Braun to play first then we could get arrambide in the lineup. hes bound to get hot but we cant afford to wait for that right now. we could if we got yorke out of the lineup though.
im not sure what id do

If you’re upset about people taking issue with you starting the 100th thread about the same tired subject then you shouldn’t start threads about the same old tired subjects. See how that works?

I think the problem is there is no one else on the roster who can competently play 1B. Yorke isn't great, but we saw how the Pearson experiment went.

I honestly think that has more to do with it. I have no problem with big boys playing baseball, it’s a lazy look, especially at 22. However, if you’re a fat first baseman, you better be able to mash and do the splits. At this point in time he’s doing neither. I notice it every time. he never stretches for a ball, kind of wait for it to come to him.

No, there was a stretch where he didn't swing at 16 of 17 strikes. Not a good look for him.
