Currently it's estimated there are upwards of 2 million Chinese birthright citizens in the US.

Did you know that 72% of Chinese voters in the US voted for Biden in the 2020 GE?

Did you know in 2024 53% of Chinese voters voted for Harris? (it would have been much higher if a man was running as the Democratic Socialist candidate in 2024 because the Chinese haven't embraced women to lead a nation.)

Did you know there are upwards of 2 million Chinese birthright citizens in the US?

Did you know many of these 2 million Chinese birthright citizens were born in the US by wealthy Chinese parents who still domicile in China with their US born children?

Many of these Chinese children with US birthright citizenship turn 18 and return to the US to attend universities and as they are getting a US education they are also beginning the process of bringing their families to the US ..

From Google AI.........,

quote:

Chinese women, particularly the wealthy, have children in the U.S. primarily to secure American citizenship for their children, which offers advantages like better education, superior healthcare, and visa-free travel. This practice, often linked to "birth tourism" or surrogacy, acts as an investment for future migration, allowing children to escape competitive pressure in China, attend top schools, and eventually sponsor their parents for U.S. residency.

I wonder if this ^^^^ is what the drafters of the 14th Amendment envisioned when they were ensuring freed black Americans were being guaranteed their US citizenship?

I wonder......hmmmmm??

As a quick side. Did you know Trump lost the 2020 GE by less than 100K votes scattered across 5 swing states?

Let's see, 72% of Chinese Americans voted for Biden.....I wonder?

If we're talking about analyzing the text of our Constitution, why would this matter?

Remind me where stuff like the “right to privacy” is in the constitution that SCOTUS has previously affirmed.

Just because they should interpret it as written doesn’t mean it happens. They make shite up to get results they want.

Were the non-citizen Chinese parents subject to the jurisdiction of the US?

They have companies which show women how to have their kids in the US so they get birth rights, something like 50,000 per year.

They go to Saipan which is a US Territory

This is not what our forefathers had in mind when they wrote that.

It's all cumulative friend. Trump lost 2020 GE by 100K votes.

Sotomayor said there were hundreds of thousands of kids on ventilators, what do you think.

Crucial question: were they diplomats?

Both of these have the same effect on interpreting the Constitution.

I don’t like birthright citizenship, and I’m not a lawyer qualified to opine on its constitutionality.

I’m reasonably certain, though, that arguments like these are basically moot.

She just makes shite up.

No intellectually honest person can argue that the Constitution’s intent was to allow open citizenship to any woman who could jump the fence and go into labor.

It’s dishonest to take the position that this is the intention.

You are correct.

The 14th amendment was never intended to allow for mass illegal immigration and the occupation of the US. The Constitution and the various amendments were truly drafted for a moral and decent citizenry. Unfortunately many on the left who practice law see the Constitution as an impediment to their vision of what the US should be. The progressives in the legal field spend an inordinate amount of time, money and resources to chip away at much of the original intent of the Constitution and the various amendments.

What does this have to do with BRC? Your argument is this occurred between 1866 and 1898?

It sounds like you are the one engaging in the quoted behavior.

The 14th Amendment was intentionally drafted to recognize citizenship for the children of immigrants. The Congressional debate expressly confirmed the children of the Chinese immigrants flooding California should be citizens.

Now, this idea of people coming to the US just to have children and then moving back to their homeland probably wasn't given much thought, since such travel wouldnt have made much sense back then.....but here we are.
