Has any LSU athlete ever completed in 2 sports on the same day?

Deion Sanders style?
Maybe like baseball and track or something.
It feels like something that should have happened before.

Jeremy Witten played in a baseball game and punted in the spring football game on the same day, that’s the closest I remember.

Jeremy Witten probably punted in a spring game the same day as a baseball game.

I remember we had an athlete that played in a baseball game and then in a spring football game the same day.

He wore his baseball uniform with helmet to punt. Was a fun day with my Grandad attending both.

…..and he didn’t bother to change out of his baseball uniform to punt!

I wonder if Ben McDonald did.
He was on the basketball team and that overlaps with baseball.

The closest thing I can come up with was I think Billy Cannon ran sprints and threw the shot put on the same day.

We had a rb, or a db that tried both...can't remember specifics or if was every a same day deal.
Maybe chad Jones could have done both too?

Chris Jackson, a New Orleans native, was a double-threat on LSU’s campus as a four-year letterwinner in football and a two-year letterwinner in baseball. He handled both punting and placekicking duties as a three-year starter for the football team from 2004 through 2006. In Chris’ junior season (2005), he was twice named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week (vs. Ole Miss, Arkansas) and once named National Special Teams Player of the Week (vs. Alabama). In his senior season (2006), he was a perfect 5-of-5 on PATs and successfully converted a pair of fake kicks, with one being a fake punt and the other being a fake field goal. Chris finished his football career ranked No. 5 in school history in career punting average (41.0).
He played two seasons with the baseball program, in 2005 and 2007 (he underwent Tommy John surgery in 2006). In his redshirt freshman season (2005), Chris appeared in 36 games, batted a .305 average and went 12-35 (.343) with runners in scoring position. He was named to the 2005 Freshman All-SEC Team and showed off his versatility on April 16 when he played in football’s spring game, then went across the street to Alex Box Stadium where he went 3-5 with a double and an RBI in a victory against Ole Miss. He arrived 30 minutes before first pitch and did not take batting practice or infield/outfield. In 2007, Jackson played in 36 games, starting 33 of them and finished as the team’s second-leading hitter, batting .292 on the year.

Some for Lyle Mouton, but Dale was likely too narcissistic to allow either to play baseball during the basketball season.

You are correct sir:

Billy also starred in track in a rare combination of events–the 100y dash and the shot put. His best time in the dash was 9.65 seconds, and he put the shot over 56' to set state records in both events.
Cannon was the real deal - very friendly guy too - Our deer lease was in about the same area in west Texas - saw him a number of times out there and shared memories.

Not while he was at LSU but Victor Jones as a senior in HS (Zachary HS) had the state wrestling championship and powerlifting tournaments on the same day. Bob Odom, the then commissioner of agriculture, arranged for a helicopter to bring him between the events. IIRC one was in BR and one in Plaquemine. That’s the best I got.

Would have to think football/baseball guys like Chad Jones, Chris Jackson, Jared Mitchell, Spencer Ware have

Both McDonald and Mouton came on basketball scholarships so they were not allowed to go to baseball until after the basketball season ended
I believe that's a NCAA rule

Alvin Ralph Dark was an All-State and All-Southern tailback at Lake Charles High in 1940, and captain of the Wildcats’ basketball team. But baseball was his first love.
Lake Charles High didn’t participate in baseball at that time, but he played Legion ball for five years—and received a scholarship to Louisiana State University to play basketball and baseball.
Dark, who had already accepted a basketball scholarship to Texas A&M, decided to got out for football at LSU after he noticed that the menu at the football training table was considerably more attractive than the wiener, sauerkraut and thin slices of roast beef served to other athletes.
He lettered in all three sports, and led the Tigers’ football team to a 21-7 victory over Ole Miss (quarterbacked by Charlie Conerly) with touchdown runs of 70 and 46 yards. But his most vivid memories of that game were four punts—a 75-yarder and three coffin corner kicks that pinned the Rebels inside their two-yard line.
Before one punt, Dark asked the referee where the ball would be placed if he hit the flag.
“Right there,” he replied. “Right on the one-foot line.”

I remember going to a Spring Gane that was just before a baseball game. I believe it was in the spring of 2008. We had to leave the Spring Game by sometime towards the end of the 3td Quarter to make it for the start of the baseball game. Once we were at the baseball game, it wasn’t long and we saw both Chad Jones and Jared Mitchell show up a little late with their bags and gear. I’m pretty sure Mitchell at least, played in the baseball game.
