Why is this acceptable under the guise of being “cultural” when worn by people who have never been to Africa? I come from a long line of dirt poor farmers but I can’t show up in overalls.

What exact "garb" are you talking about, and what is your dress code that they are allegedly violating? The detail on this matters quite a bit

If you are talking about Boers and not modern Afrikaners, then their bitch was more with the British. The British killed thousands (probably tens of thousands) of Boer women and children in camps during the Second Boer War.

Also, Africa is far from a monolithic culture.

Gonna have to be a bit more specific. We talking Boubous? Dashikis? Agbadas?

Did someone come wrapped in Kente like an Asanti chief?

Sucks for you. I can wear overalls at work all I want, and I have.

We have a lady here that wears these bouffant silk scarves on her head and cultural skirts quite often….. if she only knew the hell hole she was representing

But yes, I do find it funny that these people wear bracelets and necklaces and earrings and all those other things which represent a continent they’ve never been to… and probably would never go if they actually knew how disgusting it is over there

In context of life is short (like really is…don’t know your age but think of fuel gauge…you got half left? More/less whatever).

Of all the things to spend precious life on, this ain’t it for me.

Yet, I’m here posting about it. I’m a hypocrite. Therefore, out.
