Are we worried that we are losing 4*'s?
I hate seeing Reed go, but he was always hurt. He was a solid player though.

I have no idea how WW did in the portal or recruitment at NCstate.

I would look at the wins and losses and say that whoever wants to go can go.

I wouldn't worry too much about losing any current players.

Right now we are losing 4 guys who barely played. And last year's team sucked so hard I'm not sure I care if anyone comes back anyway.

Not in the least.

Coach Wade will keep who he wants and knows how to identify talent, recruit talent and coach talent. Think Tari Eason, an off the bench role player at Cincinnati, identified by Wade and coached up to be a 1st round NBA draft pick.

just entering the portal doesn't mean they are gone. it did under McMahon.

reed says he is open to returning. I suspect wade will put a value on him, include all the risk etc, offer it to him. maybe reed will take it, maybe he wont.

I want Reece back he can really handle the ball well.

Y’all said this same thing after Kiffin was hired. Worried about players we are losing lol.

Some of yall can’t help but panic

Go look at the talent Wade had at LSU the first time around and then get back to me. If you are still worried after that, well, you deserve to stay miserable.

I will only worry if we don't have a completely new roster next year.

I don't think he has entered the portal, has he?

I think he could be a good addition to a Wade team.

True.

Wouldn't mind DJ back, but I think he is gone.

Zipper? Who knows.

I liked Mosely, but he is sort of an unknown as well. He has a sweet 3-point shot, for sure.

These guys are not yet in the portal as far as I know.

Mike Nwoko (JR)
Rob Miller III (SO)
Matt Gilhool (FR)
Jalen Reece (FR)
Marcus Vaughns (FR)

Gilhool redshirted and has 4 more years. Gilhool is listed as 6' 11". He looks to be a legit 6'11. He looks more than an inch taller than Miller and Reed, who are both listed as 6'10 (as is MWoko, who looked shorter than Miller, when they were on the floor together, to me). I have no clue if he is athletic or what he can do on the floor, but he can be coached to overcome any deficiencies. You can't be coached to be taller .

Would like to see Reece, Nwoko, and Mosley (currently in portal) back.

On the fence regarding Reed and Miller. Not sure that Wade will pay Top PG $ for Thomas.

No clue about Gihool or Vaughns (was a January enrollee).

Not worried, this team was built to play a completely different style than what Wade does. I think there are a couple guys we could keep and would translate but nobody is a huge loss from the last roster.

Miller and Nwoko would be the two I’d like to have back but I trust Stansbury and Wade to evaluate the front line players and decide on if they’re worth ponying up for.

Same.

Really, if McMahon's style was that guard-centric perimeter play my old brain tells me played at Murray State (it was hard to tell what identity they had at LSU), and he recruited toward that, I think that doesn't really play into Wade's more aggressive crashing style of play (again, my recollections are suspect).

You can always use a PG, a good 3-point shooter (can be your PG if need be), and an athletic big, but you need to get your style of player if you expect to be competitive. If that's physically tough, a balance of shooters gonna shoot and unselfish in the same guy, athletic, and high basketball IQ or at least willing and capable of learning. I think Reece, Miller, and Nwoko have all shown some of those characteristics, for sure.

Reece seemed to modify his play to fit the needs of the team as the season went on and got better and better. I think he's a keeper.

Madking, I agree. Need to keep Miller and Nwoko. Id like to see Reed back but the injuries is an issue.

What I remember of WW's LSU teams are the lack of play in the paint. It was so much isolation and perimeter play. I hope we can get some bigs playing interior. I think things are going back towards a lot of big interior play. I loved watching Reed for UConn this weekend.

Shaq teach him how to drop step, gain 300lbs and get mean in 6 Months and anything is possible (but definitely not probable)

I saw Reece play some pretty good D on ball in spots. I don’t think it’s a lack of ability with him. Will he stay if he’s not PG1 is my guess as to what it’ll come down to. Offensively I think he fits Wade’s style

I think for Nwoko and Miller it’ll come down to can they switch picks, can they blitz the high ball screen and defend out on the perimeter well enough. I think offensively we know Nwoko can finish and can score with his back to the basket and I think Miller can be effective FT line in as a face up player offensively which is how Wade likes to use his inside guys. With Miller I don’t think we’re looking for a 10-12 ppg guy but if he gives you a couple buckets and a couple FTs with his rim protection he can help.
