NC State should be more angry with their AD for seemingly having ZERO clue of the landscape being Raleigh. This move was the most telegraphed coaching move I can ever remember at LSU. LSU has been laying the groundwork for this since July!
Tate out. Woodward out. Rouse in. Mallet to Chairman. Hell, it would only take a NC St fan reading this message board one time to see dominos falling into place. This isn't a Kiffin hire where LSU came in and offered a huge pile of money to a guy to come to a program with a better pedigree. It was LSU totally rearranging the school and athletic department administration to make it favorable to lure a guy back the fans/donors liked.
When Wade went to NC State he did so with the knowledge that the LSU job was closed without any chance of being available to him for the foreseeable future. Tate and Woodward made that very clear last year. He wasn't going to NC State to spend just one year and leave at the next best opportunity. Then things drastically changed. Not only did LSU remove the barriers (Tate/Woodward) they installed, in essence, Wade's "team" - Rousse, Mallet and, eventually, Schroyer.
Does it suck for NC State? Sure. But when a school changes the administration for YOU...you go

Seriously, what can you possible be that butthurt about?
He didn’t leave them during the season.
He didn’t drag it out causing NC State to potentially miss out on other coaching hires.
He was didn’t leave for a rival or ACC opponent.
He was there only 1 year, not 10.

NC State sold their soul for a national championship in 1983. Since then, they've just had so much go wrong, outside of their Final Four run 2 years ago. Kevin Keatts was dead in the water until he made that run, then he was fired the next year. State hired Will Wade from McNeese, then they lost the play-in game, and then their coach leaves for a school that had previously fired him. It's a bunch of built up frustration for State.

It’s funny because 1) the fans were really down on Wade as they had a lot of losses to end the season. Some were hoping he would leave. 2). They were SO blindsided by him leaving. It was not that far fetched for him to return to a school that he loved and had success at.
