I see WR, pass rusher, DB and OG brought up as needs all the time, but we never really talk about the NTs in this draft. There are some good ones and its arguably the worst spot on our team.

Who are the NTs you like for our defense in the draft? Is it a much get position? I think we need a dominant nose to pair with Breese. I'd like to take one in the first 3 rounds.

Lee Hunter
Christen Miller
Kayden McDonald
Dontay Corleone
Caleb Banks

All guys I think would be a great fit for us. Get one.

We re-signed John Ridgway. He's 327 pounds. When he didn't play we gave up 121 yards game rushing. When he did play we only gave up 77. He's a big boy. But yeah we could use some help still

Don't forget last year's 3rd rnd pick missed the entire season, but was highly rated as a DT, Vernon Broughton. I think they are counting on him to have an impact this season.

I have actually been saying this. Broughton is not really a NT imo, more of a big 3 tech. Darrell Jackson from FSU, Tim Keenan from Bama and D. Orange are also good NT prospects in the upcoming draft imo.

In the 4-5th I think Tim Keenan III would be a great pick up. He’s stout, can stop the run, and has a decent initial burst to help push the pocket.

He is who I’d target later, given our other issues on the team.

I really like Darrell Jackson.
If we could go
Delane/Downs in Rd 1
Bell Rd 2
Jackson in Rd 3 ……id love that

Caleb Banks would be more of a DE in our defense. All spots along the line are needs this year. We have no depth at DE (4i), and could use a young cornerstone player to build around at NT. Moore has stated that he prefers to build from the inside out, so I expect them to add a difference maker on the DL (in addition to Edge).

I don’t know exactly how he fits position wise, but I completely forgot about Broughton. I feel like I found a couple 20 crumpled up 20’s in a jacket I seldom wear. I watched him a fair bit in college, and I think we have a real player if he is fully healthy.

This is why I wish we would sign the one more WR before the draft.

I think we will have either Delane or Downs there at 8, with a possibility of Styles. Either way we need to go defense in round one. That is where all the elite prospects are except Love.

Round two needs to be wide open for either OG, WR, or DT. There are some elite late first round prospects that could fall.

I’d change OG for CB. Hood, Chris Johnson, Ponds, Keionte Scott all borderline 1sts that can take our secondary up a notch.

OG I think we can afford to wait 3-4

He got a ton of buzz during the few practices he was able to work at before the injury. \it wasn't anything that should effect him once fully healed and he's apparently cleared for all camp activities. Will be a nice bonus to what was already a stellar draft last year.

There's some solid ones in the middle rounds for depth. I've been getting McClellan from Mizzou in a lot of mock drafts.

McClellan - Mizzou
Corleone - Cincinatti
Harris - Ole Miss
Keenan - Bama

None can rush the passer for shite but could be valuable in plugging up the gaps.

Just to clarify, I think NT is a secondary need, not a huge need. Godchaux, Ridgeway and Boyd makes up our depth at NT. I think we could look at an upgrade on our depth. 3rd to 4th round should have some good options at NT in my opinion as not every defense is looking for that big NT.

Thats what they paid Ridgeway to come back for. He isn’t an every down player but he was fantastic against the run. We also have 2 picks in the 4th round so I’m not at all worried.

All you need is a big boy to take on double teams. There is no such thing as a big need for nose tackle. It is a very scheme specific position that not every team needs. You can get s nose tackle on day 3. Anything earlier is a waste.
