Yes, because I have that thing that makes me want to commit murder when I hear people chewing with their mouths open. I do not exempt myself from said behavior or the consequences.

Long story short....many years back, on vacation and visiting the oldest (who WAS a smacker when he ate). Left his butt standing in the parking lot of a restaurant when he got stupid with me when I asked him to please not smack. Bus ride back to his house gave him time to think about it.................

Yes, I keep my mouth closed so I don't have food falling out of my mouth and staining my clothes. I didn't think anyone who learned how to eat properly did this. It's usually children just learning to eat food requiring chewing.

Chewing with your mouth open would be swiftly met by the backside of momma’s hand growing up. Thus, chewing with my mouth closed is deeply ingrained into my soul to this day.

My wife’s cousin’s husband (who is a yankee and avowed Marxist) is the absolute worst smacker I’ve ever met. It’s so bad that anytime there is a family reunion or something similar where eating is involved, we call dibs on who doesn’t have to sit next to him.

It's nice to hear i'm not alone in this problem. I literally can't stand hearing myself chew if it's quiet. I have to have some background noise so i don't hear myself chewing. I don't understand why i can't take it, but i just can't. Hearing someone chew while there isn't other noises going on is pure torture to me. It's like I feel like a ticking time bomb listening to it. Have to leave the room or turn the tv on or something. Makes no sense. I try to just ignore it and not let it bother me, but i simply can't.
