Let’s talk about Reddit

It’s probably always leaned left, but it got more left when it started to ban conservative subreddits around 2018 or 2019, and then got even more aggressive about those bans during COVID.
The city and state subs mention Trump all the time even though they’re not explicitly political subs. The sporting subs aren’t that bad about constantly mentioning Trump, but you’ll hear some comments on there talking about Trump on occasion.
I don’t even like Trump that much, but I don’t know why they talk about Trump outside of the political subs.
I got banned from a bunch of subs on there during COVID for posting on r/NoNewNormal and r/lockdownskepticism. I then created some alt-accounts to get around those subreddit bans. That ultimately resulted in both my alt account and the original accounts getting banned from the entire Reddit website.
Nobody on Reddit (except for some fringe people like the zerocovidcommunity) really cares about COVID anymore. But due to my bans during COVID, I still get banned from Reddit whenever I try to create a new account. Sometimes I manage to evade a ban for about a month, but they always ban my new accounts eventually.

It’s always been weird but it had originality, random interesting things, and porn.
Now it only has one of those things
I’m also sure a lot of the content is posted from a handful of bot accounts. Like you’ll see a single account that moderates like 100 sub Reddits and still starts 20 topics per day on 20 different subs

I dont understand this part, the rest of the internet is full of porn (full videos, whatever).
If thats what you want why would you go there unless you're into some weird fetish you want to talk about with other people for some reason?

It's good for reviews/accounts of experiences for non-political stuff. Otherwise I don't even bother reading it.

I pretty much only use it for very specific hobby subreddits like shooting, reloading, gardening, home improvement, noodz, etc. I stay away from the political sh*t. Anything slightly political ends up being a cesspool of mentally unwell folks. Most are libs but the maga people on there are nutty as squirrel dooky as well, just not nearly as many of them. If you randomly scroll reddit you end up disgusted with humanity in general real quick.

Its good for extremely niche communities but thats about it. Probably one of the best sources for 3D printer trouble shooting, especially older models like Ender 3s

Its kuch simplet to just open the reddit app and scroll through the front page full of tits and arse instead of being spammed to death on random sites on the net.

Reddit has had a SIGNIFICANT Pro-China / Anti- USA bot farming opp for the last few years... and it seems to be working on the brain dead users on that site.
Every few days theres a ... "Look at this cool, new thing China is doing ... Meanwhile the US doesn't have healthcare" post. Obv failing to mention the giant issues in the country.
